We can all agree that this board is too slow. But why though? Every time I pull an all-nighter I spend at least 30 minutes here. Do none of you anons do the same?

i used to spend a good 30-45 minutes here even when i wasn't pulling all nighters. i think it's just that not enough people know about it combined with the fact that, even if they knew, they wouldn't bother with a sleepy board for night owls. most 8chan users have better things to be doing (dank memes).

honestly, i don't want this to become some fast-moving board with tons of users. i like it as a slow place for tired people (though it could use a little more activity).

>>2389

same guy, just to clarify i meant i currently spend a good 30-45 minutes even without pulling an all-nighter. pardon my tired-typing.

i like the sleepy atmosphere that settles over this board, it's a big part of why i'm a frequenter here

 No.2392

>>2390

If there were only a few more anons in different time zones, this place would be sleepy, but not on life support.

 No.2394

>>2392

i remember back when there was a bit more traffic, there was a Skype group that were on and off the board (and the Skype chatroom) at all times because of different time zones.

 No.2395

>>2392

Exactly. I almost never witness any live discussion here anymore. It's mostly just coming back after a few days to check out the 5 new comments that have been posted.

 No.2397

>>2395

tonight seems extremely active though, compared to how it's been lately. unless it's just like, one or two other people besides me posting. i think i've been behind a good 25-40% of all the posts in the past hour

 No.2398

>>2397

I've only posted this thread and a comment in the cozy image thread, so maybe it is more active tonight. It's sunday night, though, which is usually when this board is at its slowest.

 No.2399

>>2398

huh. weird. it says 15 active users, so maybe traffic is finally picking back up in the aftermath of the nuke. ooooooor maybe i'm just going nuts from sleep deprivation. either way, do you have skype? i could add you to the /late/ chat. or get the head to add you

 No.2400

>>2399

BO here, I gotta say, the last guy nuked that too.

 No.2401

>>2400

I use TOX. You can add me here: A4D65BE8AFE6E367F70186B670CD151F2DAC8F79D407FB92EA4294816D356A5DC7CA38BFAC44

I was also considering IRC.

 No.2402

>>2399

How do you check the number of active users?

 No.2403

>>2399

Those are UIPs in the last three days IIRC.

 No.2404

>>2400

>>2401

>>2403

i am excessively confused about everything you lot just said.

>>2402

it says in one of the columns when you search 'late' on the boards list

 No.2405

>>2400

was DerezzedMind from the skype room the last BO?

 No.2406

>>2404

The last BO DerezzedMind, nuked the board and the Skype group. Personally, I don't use Skype anymore, but I do have a TOX ID. My TOX ID is A4D65BE8AFE6E367F70186B670CD151F2DAC8F79D407FB92EA4294816D356A5DC7CA38BFAC44.

As a replacement to the Skype group I was considering an IRC channel or TOX group. Thoughts?

The 15 active users is derived from the last three days worth of unique IPs used to post on this board.

Also, sorry, I'm a bit befuddled. Being tired does that.

>>2405

Yes.

Why did he nuke the board? I'm new so I don't have a handle on any kind of drama that was going on here

 No.2409

>>2408

He just got fed up. I think he gave up on imageboards in general. I wish he hadn't bloody nuked everyone who like this place before leaving.

 No.2410

>>2409

I don't know what he was like, so I know my judgement is based on nothing, but that seems like an extremely childish thing to do. Surely he couldn't have just handed the board over to someone else?

 No.2411

>>2410

I was shocked myself. He didn't seem like a faggot to me, and yet...

Anyway, my thoughts are the same as yours.

 No.2413

>>2408

>>2409

As I understand it there was some drama involving a number of other BOs as well. /beauty/ /sviday/ /tradfem/ and /late/ all had had problems around the same time. As far as the old BO's character is concerned he always seemed like a reasonable person, well before he nuked the board anyways.

Did anyone save that vocaroo he left?

 No.2414

>>2411

Such a shame. For a while /late/ was the only reason I even came to 8chan. I thought that a board dedicated to late night discussion and coziness was a beautiful thing. Hopefully this place will get more traffic eventually, as it's definitely one of my favorite places on the Internet.

 No.2416

>>2413

It was just a hoot hoot bait sort of thing I think.

The /beauty/ owner left too, she had had enough of the constant shitflinging and outright lies. One of the /svidya/ guys left with her because he too had had enough.

/late/ didn't have real issues. It was the Skype group where issues may have happened.

/tradfem/ or tardfem as I like to call it has a long story, but the short of it is, the original owner was the toppest tier of faggot.

>>2414

Pretty much the same for me.

Anyone up for talking on TOX? I know I'm reaching here but, https://github.com/tux3/qTox

 No.2426

>>2416

Just how much more traffic was there before the nuke?

 No.2429

>>2426

Maybe 20-22 UIPs. More posts daily.

 No.2430

What do you all think is the proper amount of traffic for this board? Personally I feel there should be at least one new thread every day, rather than one new comment every day if we're lucky.

 No.2431

>>2430

40-50 UIP. ANy more than that and we would probably need rules to maintain the board, fuck if I want that. Enough posts that If I come back to check the board an hour later there is at least one post to reply to.

 No.2434

We should consider cross-board alliances, find some other slow boards and make friends so we advertise their board on our front page and they advertise ours. Places like /mental/ or /improve/, /britannia/ would possibly do so too.

 No.2435

>>2434

It is nice, but doesn't seem to have much effect. As it is we do advertise some other boards, and vice versa.

 No.2437

>>2416

I'm not really a fan of Skype so yes I'd be okay with TOX. Haven't even used it before though.

>>2413

I might have it, but like the anon said it was just some hoot hoot sounds or something.

 No.2439

>>2437

Well, try downloading the client, I'm sure it is easy to understand how to use.

 No.2441

>>2387

It seems to have picked up. Just a little. 18 UIP as of now. Thanks to everyone responsible for holding up this board.

Just remember one thing and we will soon be running smoothly. Actually two things. One: if you drop by and there are no posts, make one! People are more likely to reply to recent stuff.

Two, relax, enjoy yourself!
