i have two friends who have survived the elimination process where years worth of 'friends' have failed. we have several striking and almost deal-breaking differences, yet we're still very close. i've questioned our friendship before, and as much as it makes sense to occasionally, or when i'm in a particularly anti-social mood, i've never been able to find a good enough reason to end it. ever. in fact, a frequent thing we bring up as a joke is 'we're so different, why are we even friends?'. and none of us can ever come up with a good answer.
yet we've been best friends for many, many years. honestly, you have to really feel it deep before you decide to end a friendship. if they constantly bore/annoy you, you never really want to do stuff with them, and you're uncomfortable or anti-social around them, then sure. they're not worth your time. but if you still feel something for them, actually tell them about this shit. if it continues after that, back out. if you've already tried to get them to understand that you're tired of this shit and it's STILL an issue, end it now.
