How can we spread the word about this place? I understand that many of you anons like the fact that this is our little unknown, cozy corner of the internet, but let's face it, /late/ will die unless its population is raised.

last time i checked it was around 13 and it felt like it was slowly growing; did /boards/ die?

 No.3472

By shilling on other boards. I found out this place through /asmr/ of all places.

 No.3473

I found this place through 4-ch; someone had made an offhand reference to it. Just mentioning it on other sites or boards can help.

 No.3476

Subtly shill for it when it's related to the discussion. Surely there are many anons who'd love this place but don't know of it yet.

This has stayed alive pretty well imo. Still my favorite after several months.

/boards/ is nearly dead at this point

>>3473

Offhand reference? I'm curious now.

>>3469

We can only subtly shill. Refer people to our music thread perhaps. I trust our /late/ anons to not expose us to trouble.

>>3476

The fact that such an incredibly niche board with so little to say/talk about is not totally abandoned only shows that our crew really cares about this place.

 No.3480

I actually don't know how I found this board, but it was a month or two ago. Now it's my go-to place during my nights.

Active users means jack. Some boards that have been active since last year have never breached two digits.

No. No 'shilling'. No advertising. Only mention it when it's relevant and interesting. Re-direct people who are a good fit and are interested.

This should not have to be said.

 No.3482

This is the first time I've stopped by in weeks, I suppose I could make a habit of coming here more often.

Originally found this place through /boards/

 No.3486

Honestly this community on here is one of my main reason i keep going back to 8chan

 No.3492

I've completely forgotten how I found this board, but that feels right in a sense.

Between the low population and forgetting how I first made my way here, it reminds me of a cozy all-night diner.

 No.3493

>>3486

Honestly the same for me. I just wish I could remember how I got here in the first place.

this is probably the best way to handle it; the active users are back up to 13 again so its more than likely they have been either not posting as much or just too busy.

>it reminds me of a cozy all-night diner.

the thing i love about /late/ is that it has an atmosphere to it.

We need more discussion threads, maybe encourage replies. People leave if there's no attention or activity. But otherwise I'll see about directing some anons this way.

Wasn't it advertised as a board of the week some time ago?

Also, if you want a big influx of people at once, try talking about it in 4am threads on /v/ and /co/.

 No.3512

>>3500

We should avoid advertising in general. However, if you know someone who would be a good contribution to the board... Maybe.

 No.3514

boom, posting in this thread to raise the active users

This board is okay, it has that piquant emphasis on melancholy that night-time typically imbues the world. Now, rationally it''s merely the absence of the sun but humans process space & time emotionally.

Maybe emphasize that feeling connected to night-time then? The feeling of unease that spreads out as evening lurks.

 No.3899

Isn't the "active users" stat only counting anons who have posted in the last 3 days?

Not counting either lurkers or people, who just checks in from time to time?

 No.3919

File: 1451283010508.jpg (454.93 KB, 1500x1500, 1:1, penguin_marla.jpg)

>>3899

That is correct. I would assume there are a good number of lurkers like myself who don't show up in the stats. Make no mistake, no post here goes unseen or unappreciated.

>>3919

This isn't a board that really needs mass usage. The kind of people who understand the feeling of night-time, in my case buying a lamp with a dimmer to pretentiously accentuate a chiaroscuro of shadows, will not be common shit-posters.
