The other one is ded and w/o pics so why not.

Post your dreams and anything related.

How are yours usually like? Have you had any success getting lucids? Do you keep a dream journal? If yes, post content. If no, you should.

Also, if you rarely have dreams it's only because you can't remember them. Idk if this is obvious but just so you know.

Keeping a dream journal really helps your recall. I've usually remembered 3-4 dreams clearly a night when I've kept to writing on it for a while. Chances are you'll also start getting occasional lucids.

I have achieved semi-lucidity (I was aware I was dreaming, but went with it rather than embodying my dream body). Likewise, I used to keep a dream journal.

Stopped a while back on account of it taking quite a bit of work to keep up with. In my case: I had to be both properly tired and do a full WILD routine.

On a later date I'll scrounge up my dream journal and regale some tales of yonder. For now, though, imagine a city filled with endless rows of brown skyscrapers. Every building looping back into itself. The only element that isn't 'brown' are the subway tracks that zigzag through the city.

Curiously the only dream space I returned to in multiple dreams and that remained largely consistent too. Been a good while since the last time I visited, though.

I was in an elevator with a view of a huge city through the glass. There was a girl in the elevator, and she kept asking me where I wanted to stop. Eventually I got so high I couldn't see the city very clearly. I saw something really bright above me then fell back to earth. I think from here I become some kind of godlike entity and tried to repair the earth. I could hear the earth crying.

Eventually I ran out of strength and fell asleep. There was more but I can't remember.

Maybe the elevator was like a tower of Babel.

do dream journals actually help lucid dreaming in any way?

 No.3508

>>3505

I find they do, if anything else just because the very act of recording your dreams, and planning to record your dreams will make you consciously think of dreaming.

To me lucid dreaming is simply a matter of routine. If you're doing the techniques, the journals, and thinking about lucid dreaming you're much more likely to have success.

But journals to be time consuming. When I started I would record absolutely every detail. Some nights I'd have like five dreams and I would vividly remember three of them. Starting your day with 3 pages worth of writing is time consuming. In the end I opted to just construct a timeline of events within the dream, making sure not to miss any event. Any small, but seemingly important details I'll go out of my way to record.

>To me lucid dreaming is simply a matter of routine.

i think i understand exactly what you mean; i've unintentionally done something similar using an object. kind of like how totems work in the movie inception.

I wouldn't know about lucid dreaming, but it definitely helped me recall my dreams.

I can give credence to what >>3508 wrote. The brain adapts itself chemically to repeated tasks. I assume it does so for dreaming as well.

The WILD technique, for example, relies on a lot of practice to get right. I've heard from experienced WILD dreamwalkers it feels like 'stepping into' a dream with enough training. Makes you wonder if (lucid) dreaming isn't self-induced hallucination.

Dream journals are wonderful to have anyway, you can feel exactly what you were feeling for an amazing number of dreams.

I have mixed feelings about the nature of dreams. My original feelings about the feelings that surround dreams was skeptical and fully naturalistic, but when I started doing things like WILD I would have very strange experiences. Maybe it's just my head screwing with me, but I feel like there's something else. I guess I'm still mentally a skeptic about it but in my heart think there's something else. Now that I'm a Christian I can't say I think what's behind them is always 100% good.

i had three dreams a few years ago that i have been trying to recapture; they came to me at a really difficult time and made things feel like everything was going to be alright. each dream had a woman with a very distinct personality but a different appearance each time; she was funny, cute, and a little flirty. the first dream was set at a carnival, it was like a date and i can still remember her smile and appearance in it. she had long, straight jet black hair and pale toffee colored skin.

the second dream was set in something i assumed was an abandoned school. she was much younger in it, around 16-18 years old. she was short, white, with red-orange colored hair and braces. we just talked the whole time but i cannot remember a single word.

the third dream is now a blur to me, i can not remember anything about it other than having it. the things that stuck with me about these dreams is that they all felt contrived and set on cheering me up. i have been sleeping more in hopes that she comes back, still no luck.
