As if the internet didn't waste enough of your time, here's /lazy/, a board dedicated to time-wasting and procrastination. If you're a recovering procrastinator, you can also post ways to be more productive and generally not lazy.

Basically, it's like Alcoholics Anonymous if there was a keg at every meeting.

What's a waste of time? Doesn't everything not related to work waste time?

While it's true that writing novels and volunteering at soup kitchens could be considered wastes of time by some, there are some activities that are far more deserving of this title. Here are some of their common qualities:

>Doesn't contribute (or contributes little) to society

>Doesn't build a trade skill

>Very low barrier to entry (i.e., little effort required to do it)

>Can be done pretty much whenever you feel like it

>Doesn't improve your health (physical or mental)

>Doesn't create profit

>Potentially addictive

Are you saying [favorite hobby, e.g., playing vidya] is a waste of time!?

Probably. Time-wasters aren't entirely bad, though, since we need time off from work to rest our minds. Part of what this board can do is offer some fun ways to take time off. If you want to procrastinate that way, that's on you.

So what makes someone more productive?

There are methods and games out there that seek to make people more motivated and productive. If you happen to find something out there that works for you or seems interesting, feel free to post it here.

>have uni homework to do

>do most of it, but put off working on the essay

>one week later

>entire essay due last Friday

>other stuff due soon

>stay up until 3am playing vidya and hiding from it all

>mfw i saw it all coming and did nothing

So what are your nights like, /lazy/?

>weather's gonna be warm all week, even at night

Even if I'm slacking off, it'll be pretty nice. Might spend some time outside during the day, take a walk or something

I procrastinate daily. I don't even mow the lawn anymore. I don't even play games anymore. I feel like a heroin addict without heroin, even though I've never done heroin. I haven't accomplished anything in years, literally years. It's gotten to the point where I'm almost incapable of anything worthwhile or meaningful.

Bye.

I feel extraordinarily good today (in comparison to me, not others). It's the only reason I used capitalization.

/tech/ here. There's like four or five projects I want to do with my computer to make it secure/better/whatever, and I'm putting them all off with vidya on top of the actual work I'm putting off with vidya. I then feel like shit for not doing anything and proceed to drown my sorrows in more vidya.

Not even addicted to video games, it's just something to do. Second choice would probably be either internet or books.

>I feel like a heroin addict without heroin

it's like that

I spent almost all day in bed, half-asleep. I wasn't even that tired, I just didn't want to get any closer to the work I had to do.

At least I get to stay up all night now to try and fix my sleep schedule.

Hey /lazy/, I've always played idle games off and on as a time waster, especially when on break from class. So far I've mainly played Cookie Clicker (which recently got an update) and Clicker Heroes. Cookie Clicker's new update makes it breddy fun to play, with Orteil having revamped the ascension system as well as adding new buildings and shit. Clicker Heroes gets updated fairly often as well, but it's all the same shit once you start getting 100+ hero souls per run.

What are your favorite games to idle with, /lazy/ ?

also, cookie clicker link http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/ cookie clicker link

The Kittens Game is pretty nice to leave in the background. It's got depth and it's involved, but not so much that you have to babysit it constantly like Prosperity.

Just started a game on it to see how far I can get tonight.
