Recently, it has come to light that the tragic shooting in Christchurch may have been connect to 8chan, specifically >>>/pol/. As a result of this, there has been speculation that 8chan may be under close scrutiny by law enforcement officials, and the general public. The >>>/leftyk/ moderation would like to take this opportunity to unequivocally condemn >>>/pol/, >>>/k/, and the Christchurch shooters. This attack is unacceptable, and posts which are in any way insensitive towards this tragedy will not tolerated here.

Please remember that your posts on here will be viewed by more people than just yourself and other posters. As a result, be mindful of how your posts could be interpreted by these new individuals, and understand how some posts may be taken the wrong way.

This board will continue to operate, however until we see a drop in traffic from these new visitors, moderator scrutiny of posts will be at an all-time high.

This is a temporary measure, in order to secure the stability of both the board itself and the website as a whole.

As always, we do encourage posters to save links to alternative websites and boards in order to preserve the community in the event of a board or website shutdown. The board owner has no direct relation with any of these websites or boards, and lists them in a completely random order. If I have missed any please let me know.

FAQ:

>What is not allowed to be posted?

Anything illegal in the United States will be instantly banned here. Nothing encouraging breaking any US law is allowed either. If it's questionable, it's banned.

Additionally, anything that the feds would flip shit over I'm banning.

We are a legal informational board, and the official policy of moderation is to stay within the limits of US law.

>I'm not a leftist can I post here?

/leftyk/ welcomes discussion from non-leftists. Non-leftists frequently come here to ask questions and raise topics for debate. Board moderation here is more focused on maintaining a good board index, so non-leftists have to be on better behavior as OP than they do as participants in someone else's thread. If you aren't b8ing or shitposting, your thread is likely to stay up.

>Are you liberals? Are you SJWs? Do you like Clinton? Are you all Zionists???

While there are a few liberals here, the majority of posters on /leftyk/ are radical left. They may still be socially liberal, but their economic stances are decidedly not liberal, and likely heavily opposed to the liberal order. As an extension of this, posters here are opposed to "SJWs" because they see them as economically liberal, and socially oppressive. We hate the Democrat party.

Pretending to be an SJW will very likely get you banned.

>Why did you leave /k/ and why does this board exist?

/leftyk/ exists to help the 8chan community focus on leftist topics without being slid or flooded to death.

>Do you support gun control?

While posters on /leftyk/ have varying stances on gun control (training requirements, mental health checks, etc.), they are overwhelmingly in favor of arming the proletariat, and are against banning guns. Famous leftist heroes such as Marx, Orwell, and Huey P. Newton were all pro-gun.

Well sure, but how does deleting public images of how a nuke operates have to do with breaking us law? These are things from US high-school text-books FFS, and the information in them cannot be used to make a feasible nuclear device simply because that level of construction requires a sufficient industrial capacity and technological advancement that no /pol/-tard has available.

This is an excellent article on the subject from sangha kommune. In it they translate an anti-Soviet/pro-Monarchist yellow-news article on weapons in the USSR, then proceed to debunk it.

>antautism scoreue firearm

Meant to say *antautism scoreue firearm

>hunting

Just as a side note I want to use Vasiliy Zaitsev as an example of hunting weapons and their legality. Zaitsev grew up hunting regularly, owning his first rifle, a Berdan, at the age of 12. Zaitsev was born in 1915, so he owned the rifle in 1927. Zaitsev only joined the Communist party in 1943, 16 years later, yet continued to own several rifles and guns prior to this. This example debunks the idea that non-party members couldn't own guns.

Pavlichenko meanwhile was never a hunter, however she was a civilian marksman champion, but only entered a sniper school for a short period of time before being sent to the front line. There she made her name eliminating over a hundred Germans, including 30 enemy snipers.

On the pic posted, Washington actually had TWO rebellions crushed, Shay's Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion. The former was crushed by what amounted to a private mercenary militia, capitalism folks. Your gun rights only matter if it serves the upper class! The latter was crushed by the union, and followed by the militia act which basically made all militias as state owned, and while not openly banning non-state owned militias, in practice it made them impossible to upkeep.

Notice how the wiki claim on gun control in the Soviet Union has messed up sourcing, talking about gun control beginning in 1929 yet sourcing decrees from 1918 and 1920 (When the USSR was not even in existence yet). The soviet poster, "Citizens! Hand in your arms!” During the reign of revolutionary terror in the Civil War of 1918–1921 was a war-time measure due to the critical lack of weapons available to the Red Army in the middle of a war. It is no different to US WW-2 posters encouraging people hand in their metal, paper and silk to the US army.

Reposting a some stuff about armor spalling.

A Spall is a wave process. If you transferred the same amount of energy via heating it you'd end up with a cooking surface not a spalled plate. If you delivered the same KE by bumping tanks together at a few km/s you'd end up with some bent bits, not spalled plates. Spalling occurs when a shock of sufficient strength is driven into the plate by the interaction of the metal-metal impact or HE detonation-metal. After the shock transits the plate, it is released on both sides by rarefaction waves. If the shock is of sufficient strength the relief waves are so strong that when they interact somewhere inside the plate they literally tear the plate apart in tension.

TL;DR Spall is tensile failure due to the interaction of release waves in a shock-process. You can see the wave diagram of such an interaction here: (Pic 2)

I've heard /pol/yps claim that the uk is totally NOT oppressive to gun owners whenver they start harping about Commies taking guns. (which is hypocritical because in any other thread they insult Britain same as this thread.

Just a debunk in terms of Britain allowing guns for anyone interested.

Shotguns, especially semi-auto, are prohibited except under special circumstance. The Firearms (Amendment) Act 1997 and the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997, defining "short firearms" as Section 5 Prohibited Weapons, which effectively banned private possession of handguns almost completely. These are all laws passed in the 80s and 90s. New laws are even stricter.

Semi-auto shotguns like the Saiga-12 and Vepr can be found owned in britain but they have to be of a certain barrel length, (24" is the minimum barrel length for the Saiga-12)

So, I’ve been checking up on new articles about the two bump stock bans, but the last articles were around the 10th or so. So far, the articles were about the Curbelo bill, which I’ve been able to read, but there’s been only a passing mention of the Feinstein bill. Will nothing happen? Since there’s been no new articles, I don’t know what’s to come. Help me anons.

>also general discussion thread

 No.14

Op here, just read the Feinstein bill, and it's just about as bad.

>bans any part that makes the fire rate faster

>only except that it actually names bumpstocks and crank triggers

Hopefully either nothing happens or the bumpstocks are reviewed for regulation. Both bills are equally as bad.

 No.31

I unironically support bump stocks. Sure, there are better options, but that's not the point. The NRA rolling over on this shows once again they are just right wing LARPers.
