New generation of political exiles leave Bolsonaro's Brazil 'to stay alive'

The military dictatorship that ruled Brazil from 1964 to 1985 exiled leftist politicians, dissidents, artists and academics. Decades later, prominent Brazilian leftists and activists are again leaving the country, but this time they are fleeing death threats from rightwing extremists and supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro.

There was no "resolution" of class struggle, only its obfuscation under the fascists. And If we do start considering nazi pacification of working class discontent to be a "resolution" in the dialectic of capitalism, then contemporary smiley face neoliberalism must be the most advanced form of "socialism".

 No.2938472[Reply]

Has anybody created a detailed register for victims of capitalism, i mean detailed individual cases, not just broad statistics.

This might not seem very useful now but in the long run it might become very useful, if only for a future communist society to dissuade revisionism. This might come handy in other ways as well considering how in the past lots of dynastic wealth got accumulated by the most egregious crimes, and now it's basically possible to whitewash this, because of lacking documentation. Consider how a future communist society might still have cynical opportunistic people digging up their ancestor history for the purpose of claiming to be hairs of some business empire, and then it would be nice to have a database off all the people who got wronged by said business empire.

Consider how the Bolsheviks offed the Romanov clan to avoid having to deal with this becoming a retrograde political trend down the line, except that you can forego all the murdering. They way I imagine this is that the business figureheads of our time will be distorted by history and will be seen as a type of pseudo royalty in the future and there could be the potential for politically exploiting the fascination with historic figure heads, to return to exploitative economic relations. In this scenario it would be helpful if you could dig up the database of victims of capitalism, and tell the descendants of victims they have a legal claim to compensation, as way of creating a political counter trend, with counter claims.

The motivation for this is that I listened to a broadcast of people complaining about how they got mistreated in former communist countries. This was probably organized for ideological reasons, cold political calculation and not really out of compassion or sense of justice, all of it was very vague and altogether unconvincing, to the point where it seemed like it could be fiction. And then it occurred to me that the documentation and presentation of capitalist crimes aren't much better, most of it is dry listings where the horror fades into boredom. So now would be the time to properly record time witnesses. Maybe grab a camera and try to get interviews, and start putting it in data bases along side with copies of legal documents.

Anime is the opiate of the masses and a by-product of japanese post-war hypercapitalism

Change my mind

189 posts and 61 image replies omitted. Click reply to view.

 No.2935955

A new trend is sweeping the deeper and darker parts of the internet. Sites known for their right wing extremism, such as reddit and 8chan, have begun spreading their views into the online world of anime (a Japanese form of cartoon) discussion. Anime, which has been growing in mainstream Western popularity for years, has long been regarded as a progressive and forward-thinking medium of art. This has made it the target of the large and hostile neo-nazi wing of the world wide web.

Through a new artificially created meme, "Cuckime", these extremists are attempting to divide the anime world. Cuckime, a play on the words "cuck" and "anime", is meant to describe anime that does not conform to conservative ideals. Anime in which, say, the protagonist does not conform to masculine norms. Anime in which the female characters are dominant over the male characters (an area in which anime has been ahead of the West for years, by the way). Anime with love triangles, "NTR" (not entirely sure what this is), and no clear romantic resolution have all apparently earned the label "Cuckime". In other words, anything that goes against a euro-centric traditionalist idea has been slandered with this new and troubling form of hate speech.

The meme originally started on 4chan, but the moderation team - headed by celebrated Japanese Tech guru Hiroyuki - acted quickly to ban it. It was only when the notorious site 8chan, known home of pedophiles and fascists, picked up on it that the meme truly began to catch fire. Threads on the site's /pol/ (politics) board called for the "creation of some quality propoganda OC we can spread to the normalf*gs". This "OC" (chan terminology for "original content") has reportedly been spread everywhere from reddit, to tumblr, to myanimelist, to the kissime comments section. Luckily, most of this has been deleted and the userbase's have reacted with widespread hostility.

This is clearly part of a larger attempt by conservatives to take over the internet as a safe space for their hate. In fact, the "Cuckime" meme itself harkens back to the recent "Cuckservative" meme that caused a minor firestorm. Mainstream, reasonable conservatives like Jeb Bush have joined a long list of others - blacks, gays, Muslims, transexuals - as a target of ridicule Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

NTR is the very definition of cucking, it's literally cuckolding.

>Anime in which, say, the protagonist does not conform to masculine norms.

Such as?

>where female characters are dominant over the male

You do realize GATE is a popular right-wing anime that has precisely that? Or Youjo Senki (it was a mockery of right-wing ideology but rightwingers took it unironically and liked it)

>love triangles

Because love triangles are complete shit almost every time they're executed. It just creates pointless drama and shit like pic related.

>no clear romantic resolution

Because its a tease ending, though frankly i don't mind it depending on the anime, since it leaves space for shipping and fanfiction without "muh canon" fags.

Frankly I think you're over-analyzing this. Cuckime is used for any and all anime TBH, by those who dislike it with strawmen and other shit to back it up. The problem is that the unironic weebs whose behavior fuels the fire for these morons.

No

>but

No

No capitalism allowed. You can still run a workshop but dont be under the illusion that you would be free to use all its assets and make profit as you please, or that you can expand and employ people in a capitalistic manner.

 No.2939087

It's when you start taking resources away from the other parts of the economy (including labour), that your enterprises become a problem. So if you are literally just doing something yourself (eg home handyman), then there is no problem and no conflict with the central plan.

Under capitalism, it's much the same. There are low barriers to entry to becoming a home handyman. If you want to start a big business, then you need to convince banks or investors to give you money. The difference is that under capitalism, none of this is done democratically or in anyone's interests, except the rich.

 No.2939103

>>2939031

In market socialism you could individually run an enterprise or form together with other workers a cooperative. The bottom line is that its illegal to exploit workers and you share the profits that you all made. In state socialism you go to concentration camp and die there or people get fed up with the totalitarian society and kill those who run the state and set you free.

 No.2939137

>>2939053

pretty much this, just that there will be no distinct firms or businesses, you'll use the allocation system for everything that way capital goods stay incompatible with privatization attempts. You know lessons learned from how easily Soviet firms got disconnected from planing and converted into capitalist entities. Any attempt at privatizing something will just register as ineffective allocation of resources and cause resources be redirected to something else.

>>2939041

>sharing all profit

well then there is no reason to bother with profit at all, you can just forgo profit, you do not have to use circular money schemes to be able to do something, consider that in capitalism money functions like a paywall system to resources. If you can get resources through other ways, profit will not be needed to satisfy entrepreneurial drives

>>2939044

>what in case that it does something against or irrelevant to economic plan?

Today capitalist companies do plan their economic activity in advance, what changes with a planed economy is that instead of using inefficient markets for harmonizing these disparate plans we treat it as an information problem that can be solved by a computer.

>market socialism

Has the same problem with systematically skewing distribution as market capitalism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQrEEdy_uwM

actually existing market socialism would look similar to contemporary China. During capitalism coops are obviously preferable to private firms but for socialist mode of production one has to go beyond money market schemes.

Assassin's creed presents history as a series of dialectical usurpations; starting with the birth of humans as a slave species, some were immune (class conscious) of the isu's (the ruling class's) mind control objects, the pieces of eden (fetishism) leading to their downfall. The story continues through different societies brought about due to class struggle, with an underlying current of the assassins stopping a natural disaster with the isu's technology, specifically a solar flair, because the templars won't (global warming).

So why don't any "pop culture Marxist analysis/analogy" people talk about it?

Too obvious?

Not enough?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Infektion

The source for this being a conspiracy started by the commies is the Mitrokhin Archive. But people already knew about MKNAOMI and Fort Detrick by the time the AIDS scare happened and could have easily guessed. NYC and San Diego were two favorite bioweapon testing areas since the late 40s and onwards which went wrong and resulted in several deaths.

What if the "Operation Infektion" files are a forgery? The Mitrokhin Archive seems to be selectively showing things that make the commies look bad but am I really supposed to believe the disclosures weren't "sanitized" and removed anything like "It was the KGBs belief that The West run by a committee called The 40 who blackmailed pedophiles and marshalled them into the CIA, politics and journalism to maintain control"? You know, factual but anti-western stuff like that?

Ebola appeared during the Cold War too. But HIV/AIDS was particularly odd.

Who was Patient Zero for real? You hear at school "some african who did it with a monkey" and some people say a Canadian guy or a british man before that. Who are some non-CIA mockingbird sources who were actually tracking the spread?

During McCarthyism there was a big thing about homosexuals being a national security risk and a tendency to become double agents. What if this was cooked up as a gay removal weapon in the 50s and leaked out years later. It does affect gay men disproportionately even if that's not PC.

well theres a peculiar case of an abused adolescent in LA having the same exact symptoms and early death of the original california AIDs cases in the 1980s, its peculiar because the case dates to the 1960s

Hey guys, after the whole amber a'lee/cth 'anti woke left' article came out the twitter left really went apeshit over it, calling her a fascist, etc.

To set the record straight on the anti idpol left, i'm doing research for a MANIFESTO blogpost on the anti idpol left, i need a superlist of all marxist, anarchist, and leftist critics of idpol (intellectuals and journalists, preferably people who have written a book). I already know about cockshott, nagle, fischer, and vivek chibber.

Also helpful: any podcasts on anti idpol leftism, youtube channels, well known public figures, etc.

if you guys have any additional suggestions please drop them here as well.

Thanks

>Just have a cybernetic direct-democracy (aka read Paul Cockshott) with some quotas based on regional areas that have had long-term problems with structural racism and all should be good. Plus add in universal living wages, worker-coops, high national & local investment to an eventual digital labor credit society and all will fall into place.

That is true, however for political reasons you might want to have my proposed pattern detection system, for faster results and thus lower internal tensions.

keep in mind that money is a hierarchy too.

>I argue, a product of bias and authority… The problem of structural racism is more the structure than the racism.

the underlying problem is exploitarianism, (surplus generated by workers does not return to society but can be privatized) If you attempt to abolish authority and structure you'll end up with the tyranny of structurelessness

No shit? I'm not arguing for market socialism or something.

Authority and structure are two different things. Being against structural racism and the particular structure of authority that enables it doesn't mean you're against any kind of structure. The critique is that you have to address the problem at a structural level, not that structure itself is a problem.

Would population become more or less centralized once profit motives disappear? On one hand, there would be no reason for people to commute. On the other, local economies would eclipse economies of scale and megacorporations that can afford to be huge because they export everywhere would die out.

Barring a tankie brutalist hellworld, would you see more or less urbanization in a post capitalist world?

At the moment, most migration is because of employment. Some cities have no jobs, so people migrate to cities that have jobs. When we have full employment with socialism, there is much less incentive for these people to move.

I think trendy, arty, hipster, gentrified cities will become popular. Since employment and housing is guaranteed under socialism, people will want to live where it's "fun". On the other hand, those who want a rural lifestyle can have that too. People will live where they WANT to live, not just because the jobs are there.

I'm the proud descendant of a family which is 3/4 from UkSSR and 1/4 from MSSR. My parents, having moved to Canada as toddlers, are basically brainwashed by Canadian schooling and are completely anti-communist, but my grandparents and their generation actually got to live a greater part of their lives in Brezhnev times and tell me that they were rather happy with their lives.

My grandmother, subject to anti-semitic hatred in an Odessa market, once chucked a tomato in some Ukrainian bitches' face for disrespecting her.

ITT, talk about coming from a socialist country or descending from those who did.

>The USSR imposed acommunist regime in Eastern Eropean countries

<No it didn't

The level of denial here….

The commuist regimes in Eastern EUrope were certainly imposed due to pressure by the USSR. The Red Army was stationed here for a long time.

>Sure it was. To make such an open statement is to ignore the industrialization and advancement of Eastern Europe. Every positive modern part of Eastern Europe is due to socialism, and just because it relapsed into capitalism doesn't mean that it was a failure. Otherwise capitalism would also be a failure since it relapsed into feudalism and monarchism several times prior to establishing itself.

Do you even read your own books ? Socialism is to appear in an industrialised society. Also in regards "to every positive part", I'd wager that the corruption and shitty way of thinking left here is worse than anything good it did. It's not a communla mentality and it's not a petit burg mentality. It's a carelessness you've never seen. The heavy industry built here was unsustaiable and a result of central planning by idiots. After 89 it all got destroyed, and Western comanies moved here and shit got even shittier. In regards to commie blocks or whatever, to build them they've destroyed really ncie arhitecture, but beyond that, the city planning was retarded. Long tall commie blocks in teh cities built canyons of extreme temperatues and wind, and a lack of vegetation only made heat worse. Now add-on climate change and peopel really hate these buildings.

My dad believes that the country is in ruins and he has to hop from shit job to shit job not because of capitalism, but because soviet mentality is preventing it from working like it supposed to and we need to decommunize the whole thing, whatever that's supposed to be.

From what I understand it's a pretty common thought pattern among liberals here, they voluntarily bend their mind in pretzels to keep believing american dream is real.

"What is surprising is not that so-called “totalitarian” methods of winning friends and influencing people were displayed in these lands during and after their liberation, but that dictatorial devices were not employed more extensively. Moscow had the power (at the risk, to be sure, of a rupture with the Atlantic Powers) to give unqualified support to Communist groups and to Sovietize this whole vast region. With judicious moderation, it refrained from doing so. In no case did its program precipitate civil war within the lands freed by the Red Army, despite widespread resentment at requisitions by Soviet troops who lived off the land."- Schuman, Frederick L. Soviet Politics. New York: A.A. Knopf, 1946, p. 526

>Socialism is to appear in an industrialised society

According to Marx. However Marx is not the end-all-be-all of socialist theory. Moreover Imperial Russia was capitalist and was industrializing. The reality is that the claim that the revolution and socialism must arise from industrialized capitalism is not accurate. Industrialized Capitalism like in Britain and Germany would have all the more success in crushing revolutionary movements as they did.

Moreover, socialism did rise in the USSR in an industrial society, as it edged away from the NEP during the 5 year plans, rather than wait for capitalism to reach its late stage on its own slow merit (while people starved and suffered more).
