So besides system of a Down, Rage Against the Machine and Chumbawamba, any popular bands or songs that have an anti-capital message ?
I have only found a few:
KING 810 flint born rapper with some good songs.
Immortal Technique is an anti capital struggle rapper.
Killer Mike, Guy's slowly getting woke like Dore.
Disturbed also has two good songs but one is a cover.
(Pic not related)
left music sucks
Political entertainment in general fucking sucks, and boils down to basic proselytism.
Let's talk about music in general and not about leftist music only.
Anybody /blackmetal/ here?
Not black metal but Avatar has good songs.
Listen to folk punk tbh. Anarchists are better artists than marxists will ever be able to be.
There some good stuff, lowfi is best.
Early Ice Cube even though its just "white people suck" sometimes. If you're a hip-hop fan you gotta listen to "Death Certificate" though.
Uh, yeah, there're loads. I mean, granted I'm assuming here that King 810 isn't that popular, so I'm not necessarily sticking to wildly popular stuff exclusively:
Pink Floyd - Animals (here's a song from it, but whole album):
Bunch of Roger Waters stuff, too.
Art Bears - "Freedom" (also the entire band):
Warfare - "Wrecked Society":
Master - "Constant Reminders"
Depeche Mode - Everything Counts
Adam Freeland - We want your Soul
the coup - 5 million ways to kill a ceo
ABC - how to be a millionaire
neil young - rocking in the free world
ok thats enough theres millions of these im going to bed
The song feels very anticapitalist from the first word.
Here's an acoustic one: Mischief Brew - Thanks, Bastards!
Roger Waters is a comrade, even if he is multi-millionaire.
Most black metal is awful. It sounds like it was recorded in a dumpster. Every other sub-genre is cool though.
Lamb of God - Now You've Got Something to Die For:
Metallica - …And Justice for All (Album)
BLACK METAL GANG
I don't think Hüsker Dü were really anti-capitalist, but the three song streak from "Newest Industry" to "Whatever" on Zen Arcade makes me feel hard, because the lyrics hit close to home and I'm neither American nor had bad parents.
>system of a Down, Rage Against the Machine
I can guarantee you that the overwhelming majority of leftist themes in rock and metal are done solely for the sake of being edgy and offensive.
Jah Wobble was a socialist when this was recorded. I don't know if he still is though.
There was some notable music coming out from China for awhile.
Dead Prez are Pan African socialists but they believe a some stupid conspiracy shit. Why would the CIA kill Bob Marley and not cancer from him mixing tobacco with his weed?
I want to hear Chinese folk music dubbed
if you're into european folk/gypsy/polka kind of music Gogol Bordello is both good and leftist
Immortal technique and disturbed suck really hard OP
The good shit right here m8.
Orchid and suicide are two of my favorite bands
Best thing to come out of the No Wave scene
Warren Zevon wrote many humorous and tongue-in-cheek songs about US imperialism, African mercenaries, and Latin America during the Cold War
I'm pretty sure Lydon is an enlightened alt radical centrist now tho
Here you go, fam.
Making of thing:
Ahem, pic related.
Good of a way to describe him as any! I think he just says whatever he thinks will offend whoever's interviewing the most.
Are you sucking my dick? no one has said Refused yet?? Or Run the Jewels? Or Dead kennedys or KMFDM?? I will finger my own asshole, fuck.
Bad Religion has some good songs.
Kinda odd question but does anybody remember a song by an African guy where he like mocks soldiers for being ignorant tools of the state? Like he goes something like 'stand up, get down' etc etc or something. Oh I actually now remember his mom was killed by being thrown out a window IIRC so maybe with that I can find it.
Yeah I got it it was Fela's Zombie
