 No.11770

Anyone else noticed the seemingly cyclical nature of liberty and tyranny? If so would you agree we're in the increasing tyranny part of the cycle?

It's because people live under tyranny, discover the joys of liberty, push for it to be the norm, and then the ungrateful fucks who come afterwards can't get it through their thick skulls that liberty is awesome and decide they need rules to try and fix nonexistent problems.

Luckily the cycle is becoming more and more extreme while we're almost on the pinnacle of the Tyranny cycle, so assuming Tyranny doesn't win out, (just let everything burn, anon. That's what these dumb fucks deserve) we may start to see actual liberty/anarchy take roots finally. It's already happening in small districts in Greece.

I think our descent into tyranny has just begun tbh fam.

We've been on this ride for nearly a century, unless you think it'll go on for another two or three, we're approaching the peak around 2018, 2022 at the latest.

If you honestly think it will take that long, have fun.

Time is "speeding up" between cycles due to the ease of modern communication.

That cuts both ways and considering how easy it is for authoritarians to gain a strangle hold on communications and media to lull everyone into complacency what was supposed to be a liberating technology can become the noose around our necks. I can't tell you how much of a challenge it can be explaining to normies why "if I have nothing to hide I have nothing to fear" is idiotic and that's most people. These cattle are too comfortable in this animal farm. Something has to go really wrong and economic downturns aren't enough because cheeseburgers are cheap.
