What's wrong with Keynes? I at least know that the Austrians sure as hell hate him, and more specifically, Keynesianism?

 No.13537

>>13536

My autism typed that out incorrectly, but nevertheless.

 No.13543

It assumes capitalism can fix its own contradictions.

 No.13546

Keynes never read a lick of economic theory and came to his conclusions on a pipe dream.

The general idea is that you can prevent ever having a hangover by remaining perpetually drunk.

>muh youtube maymays

Fact is Keynes was widely respected in his time and his theories worked until the 70s and stagflation, whereupon Friedman and monetarism came in and lead to the formation of some kind of bastard frankenstien neoclassical synthesis that is used across the world today, except they got BTFO by neo-ricardians in the Cambridge capital controversy and since then entire economics establishment has ignored that unfortunate fact and continued pressing on blithely.

Austrians, however, have been and always will be a laughing stock. The only reason they have so much presence is due to the funding of billionaires who never bothered to get economics degrees and just think that the gold standard just feelz right.

>Claim government can fix it during an age of government expansion

>Government endorses you nonshit!

>See effects of your shitty ecobomic theory decades later

>"lol it was everyone else's fault!"

You sound like a whore blaming society because she has syphilis.

I love how you also ignore the fact that Keynes has shit for economic education and came up with his thepries out of his ass to tow the establishment line.

 No.13554

Keynes is, along with Lloyd George, the poster boy for the self destruction of classical liberalism or maybe he was a Fabian all along. we will never know

 No.13555

>>13552

The Austrians have barely any presence whatsoever in terms of actually influencing economic policy, nor does the Mises institute get donations from any Fortune 500 corporations. As for the Austrians being a laughing stock, subjective theory of value and the economic calculation problem are pretty well established within economics these days, and every year the Chicago school loses more influence to the Austrians, as it's done since Friedman died. After the remaining heavyweights like Sowell and Walter Williams fade away, the Chicago school will be finished

 No.13561

>>13546

That doesn't sound any different to libertarians.

Explained pretty well here by a prominent economist who knew him personally.

I love how I have yet to see anyone actually address the arguments of the austrian school in detail, as opposed to just calling it unscientific and then completely failing to predict major economic events with their fancy mathematical models.

You have the neo-reactionaries now instead.

 No.13604

>Keynesian

>At all scientific

>The current year

You don't understand, the economic crisis would have been worse without the stimulus!

 No.13606

>>13580

The current one's pretty good, even if they're not very popular. I think the Mises Institute is doing good work in providing free literature and paid courses on Austrian economics, and improving the standing of Austrian economics with younger people. That's a start at least.

>>13593

>reactionaries

>being economically literate

kek

 No.13701

>>13606

The Mises Institute is doing pretty well, all things considered. When Rothbard died, there a spattering, a handful of people who knew about him and shared his views. Libertarianism and Austrian economics is huge now compared to twenty, thirty years ago, and growing every year.
