Aside from how hilarious the idea of maple syrup smuggling is, why are modern-day "foundations" like this allowed? Aren't they just modern recreations of the medieval guilds, with many of the same effects?

>Yet the rebels continue to complain about what they see as the federation's heavy-handed tactics, such as Daniel Gaudreau, a producer from Scotstown in southern Quebec.

>He says that in 2014 the FPAQ accused him of selling more than his allotted quota, and so seized his entire production. This year, he says, the federation even posted private guards on his property, and is now suing him for more than 225,000 Canadian dollars.

Jesus Christ how horrifying. How does one prevent such "foundations" or guilds or cartels from coming about and gaining government power?

>Paul Roullard, the FPAQ's deputy director, defends the federation's actions.

>He says: "People who say that our practices are totalitarian should go see what happens in China, North Korea, or Africa.

This statement sums up the only justification that collectivists can give about their system: that it is better than others'. Their system does not stand on its own, no, they need other men precisely because they are unwilling, and hence unable, to stand up for themselves. The self-irony is sickening - they state their policies, their system to be superior, but can do so only in the presence of a system they despise.

Their system stands not on virtue, but on envy and hatred of the man who is more capable than them, and is focused solely on his destruction. They are no better than a caveman who bashes another's head because he does not understand that others' life, others' property, is not his own.

Since these men can not create value for themselves, they leech it off others by force. Force is a necessity in a situation like this because men who respect property rights, who understand that their inability is not a noose around the better man's neck, trade voluntarily, and on their own terms. They would never give something of value to them away without recieving an equal, or greater, value in return.

The unchecked government is merely such a system on a large scale. It sole function is the creation and maintainence of institutions that legalize theft. Since in such a system, a value of an object or person is not determined by the virtues he possesses, but rather by the amount of force upon others with which he seeks completion of its goals, the more barbaric an organization, the more successful it will be in such a system.

The government puts a gun on every man's head by the introduction of Mandatory taxes, and places an ultimatum upon his life. If he refuses to getting robbed and defends himself, they threaten to pull the trigger.

Money is the root of all good - it is what makes individual rights possible, and allows a man to stand up for himself, allowing him not to be a crutch on others and not supporting others if he wishes not to. This is what the government targets first, and this is what it runs on. Take away the men who produce money, who give it value because of their virtue, and you will see this sytem fall.

Damn son, that sounds familiar. I'm trying to place it, but you've hit the nail on the head.

The pathetic "there are even worse collectivization efforts out there!" whining is hilarious and doesn't change the fact that they are still forcing these people to act against their will to screw over their customers.

Makes me sad to read stories like this. People are screwed by the state every day in ways I could never guess.
