 No.15080

You have five seconds to name the dumbest government regulation you can think of.

For me it's definitely it not being allowed to show people drinking beer in beer commercials.

 No.15083

Federally it's the ban on buffalo meat because it would destroy the cattle industry if they didn't have outrageous price controls. Buffalo are like rabbits when it comes to raising 'em. Just stick them out in a field and let them fuck.

On a state level, probably Utah's bar ban that requires bartenders to make/serve drinks behind a closed curtain before serving them to customers.

Fuck your five seconds.

http://time.com/3770696/france-banned-ultra-thin-models/

>France has become the latest country to ban excessively skinny models from working in the ultra-chic country’s fashion industry, joining Israel, Spain and Italy.

>Fashion agencies that are discovered using models with a BMI under 18, which is approximately 121 pounds for a 5 ft., 7 in. model, could face up to six months of jail time and a fine of 75,000 euros ($82,000).

prevents it from becoming a special that would encourage drinking, it is Utah after all

California's smog check, if your vehicle was made after 1975, and you live in the wrong county and don't have the money to own a house elsewhere you have to let a state certified monkey check your car's emissions every 2 years.

This

You mean how the US taxes its citizens when they live and work in other countries? yes its pretty retarded but to do it they setup tax treaties with those countries so people living in the US can pay tax in their home country in return.

Works well when you move to the US from a country with far lower tax. That being said the IRS will deny such treaties exist if you try and use them, you have to explicitly state in writing the exact treaty and applicable section before they will acknowledge it.

 No.16754

This time from the EU:

>The EU-commission bans many forms of tobacco advertisement

>Prior to the ban, tobacco advertising was allowed in some states and forbidden in others

>Hence, the treatment of tobacco advertisers is discriminatory

>Therefore, by banning tobacco advertisement on the EU-level, you end discriminination against tobacco advertisers by the states

>Highest court of the EU says that there's nothing wrong with this

Everyone knows they did it for health reasons, of course.

 No.16756

>>16754

The only problem is that they didn't ban all forms of advertisement for everything.

Not being able to marry little girls.

>In the United States, as late as the 1880s most States set the minimum age at 10-12, (in Delaware it was 7 in 1895).[8] Inspired by the "Maiden Tribute" female reformers in the US initiated their own campaign[9] which petitioned legislators to raise the legal minimum age to at least 16, with the ultimate goal to raise the age to 18. The campaign was successful, with almost all states raising the minimum age to 16-18 years by 1920.

Also: see: Deuteronomy chapter 22 verses 28-29, hebrew allows men to rape girl children and keep them: thus man + girl is obviously fine. Feminists are commanded to be killed as anyone enticing others to follow another ruler/judge/god is to be killed as-per Deuteronomy. It is wonderful when this happens from time to time: celebrate)

Not being able to deliver "1st class" mail unless you're the US Post Office.

 No.16792

>>16782

If I remember right, first class mail doesn't even account for 1% of all their mail sent.

Actually, advertisements and spam account for more than mail… And even then it's only a small percentage of what they deliver.
