Is there any tale sadder than that of this great patriot?

The Wikipedia-article is pretty biased. What was up with his trials? Were they as retarded as I was always told they are, or is the McCarthy-era another piece of communist misinformation?

Blackmailing people with them being homosexual is still deplorable.

While McCarthy's blackmail was certainly immoral, virtually every accusation of communism he made is now known to have been correct. In the 1987, it was found that there had been severe lapses in security at the US embassy in Moscow, which may have allowed Soviet agents and diplomats access to areas containing classified information which should have been off limits (http://www.nytimes.com/1987/04/12/world/old-moscow-hands-irked-on-embassy.html). Many of the "China Hands," the diplomats who stopped giving military aid to the Nationalist Party, allowing the Communists to take over and kill 60 million people, were on his lists as well.

Pick up Blacklisted By History. It'll send you into a fucking tailspin and make you question everything you've ever believed about the Cold War. Possibly the most extensively sourced book I've ever read, the faggot who wrote it really put the work in.
