"Shitty" as in genuinely shitty, or "shitty" as in just in general.
Most of the thread seems to be the former, and of course nobody's going to seriously put down a golden nugget for others to take (even though it's going to be probable they're going to mess the idea up in execution).
I would have said "Dude writes a novel and finds out how terrible the publishing industry is," but Steve Hely already did a bang-up job (surprising) with How I Became a Famous Novelist in my opinion.
I'm shit with titles so I'll throw two ideas out there.
One is a god honest take on an amnesiac character.
The other is a young girl deals with a dystopia and finds out just how hard it is raising up a goddamn rebellion of teenagers to do anything.
Nothing is original here, but, hey, you keep nuggets to yourself.
