You were a pussy, at the age of 13 you should have already read shakespeare.

is it spookier?

>>7431

yeah btw you are right.

i've been checking this shakespeare you were talking about and i found out that there are witches and ghosts in his work.

i think i'm too delicate for this kind of horror fiction. and genre literature sucks anyway.

See now what the fuck. /mu/ has mentioned these guys maybe twice, and this was one of the best metal releases of 2014. It seems like if you like anything at all you need to find someone on a completely unrelated board to discuss it reasonably.

Thomas Ligotti is another. Try House on the Borderland too. The other house book I guess.

Stephen King, while admittedly kind of terrible, is also kind of great in some periods of his life. It, some of his short stories like nightshift.

Not really horror fiction but Blood Meridian is pretty terrifying at times.

Also Dan Simmons. Some J.G. Ballard. Lovecraft type stuff like Machen but I find that a little dated. Jeff VanderMeer's stuff; the southern reach. The Ruins by Scott Smith.

Zone One by Colson Whitehead is not really horror but has the kind of atmosphere you want in horror.

Now how has nobody mentioned House of Leaves yet? Shit's spooky, read it.
