Currently trying to debunk my teacher. He says that:

1. The novel the "The Thing is based on" also called "the thing" has a very awkward part in it

2. that there was a female in the crew and that there were also a couple of younger boys that are virgins(important)

3. That the Thing fed on innocence of any kind

4. The female crew member took away the virginity of all the younger boys so the Thing wouldn't hunt them.

I'm having the most difficult time finding this to the point that I don't think it's true

The novella the movie franchise is based off of is known as: Who Goes There? by the legendary John W. Campbell, Jr.

Perhaps what he means is the latest reboot is based of a novelization of some earlier movie, more specifically the second draft of the 1982 era screenplay by the ubiquitous Alan Dean Foster.

Personally, I can't be arsed to look into it further. I must simply conclude der prof has gone ghey. I suggest he be taken out back of a Trump rally and shot.

Meanwhile, check out:

Like >>9203 said, "The Thing" old and modern prequel + "The Thing from another planet" +"Horror Express" are all based on stuff in the novel "Who Goes There?"

I haven't read the novel myself but what you prof is saying sounds kinda whacky and none of the 4 films nor the plot summary of the novel have any of that (I haven't watched Horror Express either but can't find references to what your prof said in the plot sum)

I posted it for you

Just finished it, surprisingly good even though I saw the Carpenter movie as a kid. Scared the bejesus outta me back then.

Senpai is either funnin you or referring to bad fanfic. The Thing would never care who it imitated if it meant staying alive.

Do you think he got the stories mixed up? like something that has nothing to do with "Who goes there?"
