This thread is dedicated to discussing ways in which we can directly recruit from 4chan /lit/.

Get suckers banned from cuckchan. Apparently that's how a lot of 8ch users end up here anyway.

How do you get them banned?

Important info:

Advertising/spamming on /lit/ will only get you banned for 3 days at a time

Never just write "8ch dot net/litpat" or you will get banned: slip it into a paragraph while you are commenting on something

The best strategy is pm spamming people on reddit/other boards that you like with a simple message saying that you liked what they commented and recommending they check out litpat with a description of litpat and a link

Goodreads spam template (useful for any site):

I see you are a member of the group {INSERT GROUP HERE}. I have browsed 4chan /lit/ since 2011 but have seen a noticeable decline in the quality of posts beginning around the time of the election in 2016 (the general trend site-wide has been towards everything becoming /pol/ (is cancer) i.e. political in nature, often with a slant towards the far right). I have created an alternative to /lit/ on 8chan for people who have become disillusioned with 4chan /lit/. The link is 8ch.net/litpat/

jej, I've been here since the beginning and received one of these messages in goodreads.

I guess it worked :)

Wrong. The best way to do it, is to harass good content posters on /lit/ telling them to "fuck off to /litpat/ leftycuck", generally lowering the quality of content there. This will make the good posters emigrate, and AFAIK this is how /leftypol/ initially grew.

Nigger, good content posters on shit/lit/ aren't leftist. Leftists are the ones that derail threads with bait or just plain autism. You're the prime example of this.

For every /po/ spamming autist theirs a generic lefty that sounds like they came straight from reddit. If you want this place to just be /leftypol/ (banning any dissenting opinion) then no one from /lit/ will migrate.

I (not OP) want this to be like old /lit/ where the main focus of conversation is literature. Not politics. Both sides can and will insert politics into everything, even nonpolitical topics. I don't want that.

this seems like honestly one of the best ways to go, recruitment through alienation, if people like >>947 and >>948 want to call right wing people cucks and bring them here, that's fine, but if those people who come pull any blatant political shitposting, hats are off

"Anything that smells of /pol/ (is cancer) shitposting will result in permaban."

>>947 you're the only one derailing a thread as I see it, calling someone a nigger and using the autism cliche… the only reason I'm not banning you is bc I assume you're a dedicated member of this community based on the terminology you use… I also think you're getting angry at someone who made a legitimate suggestion (as opposed to useless off-topic infighting)

There has only been one case here where a new mod jokingly tempbanned someone and I reprimanded them. Everyone needs to calm down, we are a small community at this point; no need to attack each other.

We all recognize a need for a new community outside of /lit/… as >>949 wrote, I would like for this place to be an apolitical community, as part of the reason /lit/ has turned into a cesspit is because the focus became too political… this thread is pretty good evidence of how quickly politics can derail a community, no need to shoot your brothers

keep cool, but care

You smooth-brains have ruined the original /lit/ with your shitty baits (you bait on both side of the argument).

>effective bait

>plays boths sides

am I getting baited by a "smoothbrain"?

>recursive bait

As a first time browser, I must say that if you're still hoping to grow this ded bort into a genuinely apolitical board for literary discussion, just don't waste your time, it is an impossible task.

8chan is a website that is basically exclusively for very right wing people and mentally ill perverts and homosexuals (who are also completely obsessed with politics).

Without a hint of irony I'd say you'd be better off looking at reddit if politics in the discussion irk you that much, if even 1% of the posters there are both apolitical and of high quality you'd still be looking at a quantity of discussion considerably larger than could ever be generated by the 5-10 diehard autists you could hope to attract (and that's being optimistic).

/leftypol/ is a postbot farm and the few consistent posters are mentally ill trannies and homosexuals, using it as an example of how to cultivate the growth of a consistent and apolitical board is risible.

Hey [insert person here],

I saw you on /r/books and your comments seem well-informed, I was wondering if you might consider checking out an 8chan board I created called /litpat/, the link is https://8ch.net/litpat/… it's an imageboard for people who have left 4chan's /lit/ due to alt right spamming as well as a general decline in the quality of posting and content creation … no worries if none of this interests you.

btw guys, we need more users, I would appreciate some shilling pl0x

Was considering switching to this board and I see this post. For shame, you niggers, kikes and tranny pervert leftoids.

>an impossible task

(1)board is invite only.

(2)mods must approve all invites.

(3)minimum post before invite privilege rule.

(4)ban annoying faggots.

(5)scheduled cycle of discussions

(6)sticky a book-swap/haul/request BuySellTrade-style thread

(7)abuse exclusivity to lure authors to the site for AMAs/previews

(8)use said authors' prestige to entice quality posters to accept invites

it's not really all that hard to make a decent Literature forum, you just have to stop treating it like a fucking cork-board in a uni hallway.

Having an invite only image board is anti ethical to the whole culture of egalitarianism, let alone anonymity, that makes the medium special.

this is why everything sucks now.

the noise-to-signal ratio is so fucked.

you will never get anything great done in your life if you keep letting idiots waste your time and ruin your plans.

Are there even any posters left on half/lit/ worth saving?
