I'm libertarian when it comes to personal matters. I don't care if someone wants to fuck in a fursuit or shoot up heroin. As long as such degeneracy is not promoted, and is publicly frowned upon. I think intellectualism is what prevents society from degenerating to hedonism, so if our education system was better, parents would be better, and kids would not grow up to be NEETs, perverts, drug addicts, etc.
As far as laws surrounding homosexuality, well this doesn't cover just gays, but I believe in hate crime legislature. If a gang of blacks beat up a white kid for being white, or if a bunch of straight people beat up a gay man, I think it's unfair, and thus, my empathy gets the better of me. In a perfect world, most people would be armed, and I think that'd create a chilling effect in violence. But as long as there's childhood abuse and neglect, as well as brain injury and mental illness, violence will follow.
As for general laws about faggotry, well, I don't believe in gay marriage, and gay adoption would be tough to sell me on. But if a gay couple has a relative who dies and they can take care of the kid, they should be allowed to instead of the kid going into the foster system. I'm also partial to civil unions that allow for equal benefits to marriage simply because of tax breaks. But I'll probably never be a rich gay who has to care about that, so I'm not going to shill too much for it. I just don't like the idea of pitting gays against religious people by insisting on using a word that religiousfags are very protective of.
Really, homosexuality is a biological inevitability, so the idea that one can ban it, or hide its existence, just leads to problems. As fully fledged members of society, gays would be better held to normal standards, instead of having to live in the underground and doing god knows what.
