"Coming out" is for faggots. My sexuality is no-one's business but mine, behind closed doors, and if asked my others I tell me people it's not theirs to know, but fortunately I fill my life with people who're concerned with more important questions.

I'm my own man and I don't need validation or "acceptance" from other people. Pretty simple.

I agree. It shouldn't be a big deal. But there have been times that I've had to open up about it. Recently a coworker was being very, very persistent about hooking me up with her friend. Being honest with her stopped that, but opened the door for a new sort of annoyance.

Coming out is pretty worthless until you find a partner that you plan to spend the rest of your life with. Then maybe I could see the need for some explanation as to why you're always with another man but just coming out for no reason is retarded.

As someone who comes from an Evangelical background, I find this pretty triggering. This guy knew exactly how his parents would respond. And he had the audacity to film it and post it online? He probably already had problems with his parents and was just looking for an excuse to get out on his own, and this was his way of doing it in such a way that made him the victim and them the aggressor, in his own mind. The fact that he filmed it makes it even worse. He baited and exploited his own family members just so he could receive validation and victim/sobrave status. Not all gays go to Hell, but this guy will be found in the 9th circle.

Usually it seems like they turn away from their various Gods first, rationalizing it with "if there wasn't any of this evil religion my parents would love me!" While ignoring places that have or had forced atheism that still hate fags.

If you ever do decide to come out, do it when you're financially stable and able to support yourself so you don't end up like this dumbfuck kid.

Or record it and put it up on youtube, then beg for money, I guess.
