No.29256
As you all know, most of the reportable CP spam is coming from 1 or 2 bots that are ban evading. In order to combat this, I proposed with the board owner the idea of making users fill out a captcha in order to make new threads, but we both still wanted to run this by the community and see if its something you guys would be okay with. You guys have actually been pretty good as far as reporting shit in a timely manner, so I gotta give credit where credit is due. You guys keep it up and I'll keep up my end of the job (when mod.php hasn't gone down for the billionth time today. gg Hotwheels)
This can also be the general meta thread where you can post questions, comments, and angry tirades about how terrible of a job I'm doing.

I would say ay to captchas for thread making. 1 captcha to make a thread would be a good way to stop the CP-bot from screwing us over. I say no to captcha for normal posts, that is something I could not agree to.
No.29268
A captcha only for creating threads? If it solves this problem it seems stupid and irresponsible not to do it. I see no issue with doing it. Turn it on.
The problem then becomes, do you turn on captcha for every single post once the bots give up on making new threads and just spam inside existing ones. I don't think I'd be ok with that.
No.29269
It'll keep the bots at bay, tired of reporting them everyday, and only adds like 5 second to making a thread. Not like threads are made with lightning speed on /loli/ either, I say go for it.
No.29273
Aye.
I probably lose more time reporting the bots anyway.

Some are so specific, it is easy to pre-block them.
I tried to talk to hotwheels about it, but always got no reply in return.
If they still see their posts, they think they succeed and stop. For the repeat ones, all that has to be done is tag one, and they all go down, from all boards and all future postings.
CRC32 the icons, and all duplicates die, with one line of code.
Auto-kill posts with multiple reports from "untrusted", or only a few from "trusted" users, and mods can do more, by doing less. (This includes ignoring white-knight reportings as "ignore", not as "untrusted".)
Make an option for, "Hide reported content", which hides any reported content, which might be unwanted. (As opposed to having to manually hide posts or wait for moderation, when in a place where any questionable content might not want to be seen… Like when browsing the boards at school or work, on our phones.)

Dude, we've been dealing with the same bots in other chan that isn't loli related at all since last year.
This isn't exclusive to these kind of boards; they target any chan with enough holes in the security to let them post. Also, they seem to be programmed to bypass some of vichan (and derivates) security measures.
>Plus the not would not post here unless people are clicking.
Bullshit, I've seen a lot of other boards dealing with the same shit. They just care for enlarging the number possible customers.
You have a point that /loli/ has more possibilities of people joining though; but, as I said, it's not exclusive to these boards.
Also, for OP, I think some of those are manually operated by real people. We tried once to implement captchas and they didn't work.
You can give it a try and see if it is useful, though.

Takes more than one pixel, because you don't CRC32 the image. (It's the thumbnail data, stripped of original content, and thumb-printed as a form of image DNA. The CRC32 is the CRC32 of the DNA, of the thumb. Takes more than one pixel to change the reduced attributes of the image data. They would have to change more than 50%, and they are not that ambitious. Bots are dumb and literal. You throw away the data monthly, or bi-monthly. It only even gets triggered when there is a similarity. Then a human evaluates if it is spam.)
