>You can't have someone hear something lewd in a foreign language, tell them what was being said, and expect it to have the same appeal as something lewd being said in their own language.
Native language has greater appeal on part of it not sounding like a random grown-ass woman trying to choke out a cutesy voice through her lung cancer. Lewd things in Japan are geared towards that cultural context anyway. Localization of lewd Japanese things often leaves stuff lost in translation and even more so with the further restrictions of dubbing. The further you localize, the further you dilute the original meaning. If you think "big bro" sounds better than "oniichan" and carries the same connotation, you're wrong.
>"so bad it's good"
"I like to waste my time with mediocre and inferior things, but I'm too much of a spineless pussy to admit this without tired rationalizations."
Certainly there are exceptionally sub-standard works that deserve to be appreciated in that regard, your mediocre dubs notwithstanding. Applying a layer of irony to protect your enjoyment of such shit is simply being intellectually dishonest. But by all means, don't let me stop you from wasting your time; it's YOUR time after all.
I'm just a little surprised that people would not only defend dubs, but would defend dubs for lolicon material that borders on softcore porn–stuff that practically guarantees a shitty dub by virtue of the fact that no high-profile VA (lol) would dare step near this shit.
