It's on Amazon. Yes, people are making money out of this.

Despite none of us being masters (or in my case even good) I'd bet we could make a pretty decent beginner's book if we tried. Most art books just seem to say the same shit in a different way anyway. This book looks like a ridiculously bad version of "Fun with a Pencil"
No.149
>>148With that said, doesn't it look like it might be a completely different artist? It's definitely not good, but it looks better than the part that's actually explained to the reader, lel.

I'm seriously thinking of starting a DevArt account and make a "How to" book. I know I won't be living a comfortable life. But it'll pay the rent, at least.

This person is actually just using bad geometry. There's no way they don't know the result of drawing a sloping triangle for the eye area, so I have to assume they want it to look terrible on purpose.
Guys, this is actually troll art.

Let's team up and design a character based on this thread. What are some of the things we associate with young, naïve and stubborn muh style artists? Hands in pockets or behind the back is the first thing that comes to mind for me

Princess Simool
-always looks like she has the sniffles (tumblr nose)
-wears mittens everywhere regardless of whatever else she may be wearing (because hands are hard to draw)
-every article of clothing she owns has pockets that she makes ample use of (because even mittens can be hard to make look right)
-has trouble color coordinating her outfit
-owns a wacom cintiq she uses to keep her ill-conceived and poorly-drawn webcomic updated weekly

>>948>>949You're doing alright following the construction lines which is a huge part of what FWAP is all about. One of its weaknesses though is that it doesn't elaborate on what features ( nose, eyes, etc. ) actually look like, particularly from different angles. Because of that it's definitely okay to just straight up copy a lot of his characters from the book until you do a little more research into that sort of thing. That said, keep it up man!

>>951A big part of my optimism comes from seeing my own miserable gains month after month despite being a procrastinating bastard myself. We're gonna make it bruh, everybody has to start somewhere; one other thing, until you get a little more experience under your belt I definitely think you should consider setting the tablet aside for now and picking up a plain number 2 pencil and some office paper. With digital there is a rather steep disconnect between your hand and eyes that, while surmountable, will slow your progress down quite a bit as you struggle to make each line look the way you want.

Lol, no I don't care about stuff like that. Just keep working bruh. I'm drilling hands now myself, I've been taking my own advice and doing traditional though so I haven't really posted on the board much; not that anyone else has been either. I'm torn between shilling my board and drawing. I wish I could do both.

Artfags are appreciated most places.
I honestly found the place from a pic you left with the little /loomis/ in the corner. If you had maybe a dozen of those (or wanted to make a dozen) reaction type images of various wierdness, I would probably find some use for them.

If you're thinking about going into any art program you will need more stamina and be willing to redraw same thing multiple times. Unless you can spend longer time drawing in one sitting, you will have a bad time.
