When it comes to inspiration it can vary from artist to artist. I was inspired to take up animation because of music that I had heard for example. What inspires you might be totally different. A conversation? An experience? Who knows.
When it comes to actually making art though it gets a bit more complicated. Nothing to it but to do it. Check out this thread-maybe this guys gradual improvement will inspire you to begin your own foray into art.
