How do you cope with depression getting in the way of your desire to draw and your ability to enjoy doing art?

pic related: as a drawing it's pretty bad but i was enjoyed doing the lighting. breakthroughs like this don't inspire my empty self anymore

Not being any more or less depressed than most anyone else in this nihilistic age myself I couldn't really tell you, but I've heard other depressed people describe drawing as a sort of escape, an out of body experience.

Real answer: I do what >>1931 is talking about, and make a lot of 2edgy4me pieces I never really intend to show anyone that are basically just catharsis.

Sometimes it feels good to just put lines down on a piece of paper, even if the result comes out wonky the act of scraping some graphite is just therapeutic.
