Also as an addendum, all animation is tedious as fug so you're probably going to experience that no matter what program you're using!

I don't know anything about it really! It looks like a good starting point to just dick around in at first glance but I really couldn't say. Blender is like the gold-standard in 3D animation programs but source filmmaker appears to be more approachable.
