Anyways, so Sheik is Zelda, but… I have a few questions. So, Sheik and Zelda were the same character in Smash before, but now they're separate characters, why? And, if Zelda is Sheik, then where did Zelda learn all the ninja techniques? I always though Zelda was more of a magic user. And if Link is supposed to be saving Zelda from Gannon/Gannondorf, how is Sheik able to help Link?

>>32its simple. before you return to the temple of time to return the third sacred stone you bump into zelda and impa (one of the shika clan sworn to protect the princess) fleeing from gannondwarf. when you pull the master sword and you are asleep for seven years impa has been training zelda the ways of the shikah clan and thats where she gets the ninja skills. link origionally doesnt have to save zelda from gannondwarf because she hid her identity fron him throughout the seven years until you get thelast medallion when she then reveals herself to link and gannon finds out her true identity and kidnaps her.

They're different Smash characters now because it makes it more streamlined and allows players to focus on a singular moveset.
