Who are your favourite LPers/gaming YouTube personalities?
What do you like about them the most?
What do they do?
Link your favourite video, or some of their stuff.

I like Famous Ghosts.

It's just two friends having fun.

056ed9 No.27

OverTheGun is absolutely top-tier. Extremely likeable guy, naturally funny, with just the right level of energy. There's probably 2500+ hours of his stuff, too.

My absolute favourite is TotalBiscuit, you probably know of him already. I like him because he's a bit of a dick, but with a heart of gold. Nobody cares more about the consumer and their viewers than he does, even if he sometimes gets fired up about something and says something stupid to his fans. He is the Gordon Ramsay of gaming.

And then, after him, I watch NerdCubed, Jesse Cox, Crendor and Dodger, and I've been watching a bit of Jim Sterling and JonTron lately.

I love NerdCubed for his incredibly well-executed comedy. He is incredibly dedicated to comedy. Where TB's skills are in technical analysis and commentary, NerdCubed's skills are in well-executed comedy that is actually high-quality.

Jesse, Crendor and Dodger are just… good. I'm not sure what to say about them. They're slightly more general, with slightly less focused abilities. They are just interesting people who are able to say interesting things in games, at the right moments. Dodger plays obscure anime and mobile games, Jesse and Crendor play all kinds of stuff, and they share the trait that they're awful at video games. Crendor sounds like he's stoned all the time, which can be hilarious.

Raocow
He's funny and his LPs are super comfy.
He mostly plays old Mario game romhacks with some random contest judging and other stuff.
Not one of his videos, but a good overview:

Raocow is really good. His voice is like asmr tier comfy too.

ChipCheezum. He's just damn good at video games. He even manages to make technical and mechanically complex observations and uses of the Uncharted series, but his Platinum and High-skill LPs are the best. Ironicus is also a damn good commentary buddy and I like his "going in blind" set up. It affords many great moments like the entire MGR:R LP they did.

Shame they're goons, but he's still the best at games.

2855c7 No.66

>>64
Yeah, Chip is great. As long as he keeps his goon-ness out of his videos, he's cool. The only other goon I like is Diabetus because he doesn't give a fuck and plays video games also, I'm a sucker for puns.

I used to love Video Games Awesome but the show has been going downhill for a while now and I don't really know why I stick with it. Fraser gets on my nerves a lot, Becky is kind of neutral, and the rest of the crew isn't around for the majority of the shows. If you want to count the chat I don't like them either.

There used to be a lot of comedic chemistry between the crew and that's where a lot of the enjoyment came from for me. Now that Ben's gone again it's just the Fraser and Becky show. I also feel like it's gotten less about celebrating video games and the community surrounding it and more about Fraser getting mad at things.

I might start rewatching some of their older stuff to either relive the better days or see if I just had rose tinted glasses. I suppose this post is kind of the opposite of what this thread was meant for but I would recommend a lot of their earlier stuff. I remember Heavy Rain being one of their better playthroughs.

TheStrawHatNO are a really small group of lets players I really love. he best one to start with is Sleeping Dogs, or their bomberman playthroughs.

The larger ones I watch are things like Markiplier and Sips, though I generally use them as background noise, than full attention watching.

Crit1Kal is God.

And I watch GassyMexican purely for Nanners hijinks.

Yes I know I watch alot of mainstream shit, shoot me.

Achievement Hunter, hands down. These guys have probably the funniest dynamic I've ever seen in any youtube channel. Some of their content is hit-and miss but their series lp's are some of the best I've seen. They're best videos aren't usually when they're trying to be good at a game (cus they're not) but when they try to find all the weird and hilarious ways to fuck around in one.

You. I like you.

I like SideWaysThinker though he's been getting rather desperate with the rate, comment, subscribe, malarkey. Insetik47, a bunch of goons who do EXTREME sports games in a laid back manner. Also BanterGamingChannel as it seems the only other good channels that do racing games as their thing are German.

Has anyone heard of L0rdvega?

He is genuinely funny.
He somehow manages to combine enthusiasm with jaded cynicism without coming off as trying to be edgy. In his plays where he knows the game in and out, he has a defined goal and doesn't bullshit you with boring material and he is super informative where it counts. In his blind runs, his reactions and frustrations are amusing and he won't waste your time by including the 20 tries he spent dying at some boss.

He doesn't have gimmicks and he isn't annoying. I just really haven't seen an LPer like him before and he's not attention whore-ey. In fact, once his channel started to become popular he stopped doing LPs and pretty much just vanished.

He is most well known for this Silent hill 1-3 blind runs. He removed his LPs but put many select ones on his channel. My favorite was his LP of Holy Diver. God that shit was amazing.

I would love to know what happened to him.

Grimith, TotalBiscuit and HeirOfCarthage, mostly. I'm subscribed to a bunch, but those are the ones I watch more.

I've really come to respect John Bain for the person he is, really professional dude and all. His streams with his wife are just heart-warming, I respect people in happy marriages.

So it boils down to professional respect for the quality of his works and personal respect for the figure.

7bcf28 No.285

Lord Finisher. He's not really popular, but I like him.

He sometimes stutters and despite making dumb errors he's still pretty good. He beat the old XCOM on Superhuman with one base in Antarctica.

Hell yeah. He's not popular but Grimith can be pretty cool. His response to one of those "gaming network" type things was great.

I really like Chugga, I've been following him since Mother 3. He can be cringe-worthy at many times but I feel that he does a good job conveying his passion for LPing and his love for the games he is playing. He is a very friendly and genuine guy, that's why I like him so much.

Even now that he's incredibly ill all he can think about is his future projects and getting back to Xenoblade. What a trooper.

40099f No.333

I figured I could ask here.

Does anyone know the name of 4 let's players that used to stream in JustinTV (I think) a few years ago? I don't know if they still stream but last time I watched them was in 2010 iirc. Anyone? Their name has a 4 in it.

Mostly streams on twitch under the same name. Really dry humor. Streams a lot of random sim games but mostly known for streaming Rollercoaster Tycoon, Oregon Trail, and awful dating sims.

I would have to agree. I couldn't give a rats ass about MineCraft myself, but I always drop what I'm doing every friday to watch their MineCraft LPs.

Personally my favorite would probably be One F Jef/Jefmajor. It sucked when he took like 6 months off when his dad died, but I've liked the content he's been putting out since then. He's very niche though.

I think the one issue they have is that Ray no longer gives a shit about Minecraft or GTA 5. He's always so quiet during those videos and is really into when they play something else like Mario Kart. They've dealt with that now by letting him just do what he wants (e.g. playing a different game in the GTA 5 Bingo video). He doesn't really play to win anyway since he's too good, it'd just be boring.

I hate most of their other stuff like Rage Quit. Fucking awful.

edab0a No.599

I like lpers that are at least moderately intelligent.

Aavak, Arumba, Northernlion, quill18, EpicNameBro, Robbaz, penguinz0

Does anyone have any recommended intellectual lpers?

Garret from Mega64 does his Poorly Played Stream every Wednesday, his highlights are usually on the Mega64Podcast channel.

You'll have to watch a few of their videos to understand really everything, because they don't drop memes or shit, but they have a shitload of inside jokes. Just really funny stuff.

The one with the higher pitched voice tries to bring up SJW stuff every now and then.

The other one just gives zero shits though, which is nice. Every time that stuff comes up, he segues perfectly into something else.

I've been watching a lot of PlagueofGripes here lately, he'll say what he wants and rarely gives a fuck. Though, he's mostly known for his art, he has done a few LPs and is working through Dark Souls.

BitterBits are pretty great and are willing to try anything out. A lot of Dark Souls fills their channel. They're both really chill about things and aren't scared off by weeb things like most.

Funhaus, formerly Inside Gaming, are pretty good, but Adam is such shit and if you don't like Rooster Teeth or Achievement Hunter be sure to avoid a few of their videos since they're partnered with each other. Gaming wise, they stayed the same from the IG days.

Vinesauce, mostly for Vinny and Joel. Their personalities are great and will also play most anything.

Here's a video from the Bitter Bits channel featuring A German Spy and Plague of Gripes.
