Let's players of /lp/, what equipment do you use to LP?

Personally I use:
>ElGato Capture Card
>logitech H390
>Sony Vegas

If you got any suggestions as to what should I change, discuss it and tell me why.

40cc33 No.319

I'm starting out super small, so I'm just using steam games to get a foothold.

I can post recording software I'm messing around with.

>PlayClaw 5 (don't get this, get 4. Much better.)

>Action! (don't get this either oh gods)

Yes, I unfortunately bought these. I just like being legit until they fuck me over by saying some shit like 'oh your license is unusable even though when you bought it we agreed to let you have it forever'
I've heard Fraps and DXtory are far better by comparison.

Video editing:

>Sony Vegas (This one is pirated. Going to go legit fairly soon.)

Microphone

>Blue Yeti Microphone (When it goes on sale, I highly suggest getting this. The quality this produces is unmatched out of everything I've used so far. Which isn't much.)

inb4 bully over my equipment pls no bully

Embedding error.
Personally:

>OBS

>No webcam
>Blue Snowball Mic + Pop Filter
>Adobe Audition for processing Audio
>Adobe Premiere for mixing video/audio
>Steam/Piratebay for games

Here's an example of what I've been doing.

while I'm just prepping more shit, might as well just list what I currently have:

>shitty $15 desktop mic i bought from Best Buy

>glc because muh gahnoo/loonix
>either Audacity or OpenShot
I eventually plan to replace the desktop mic with a Zalman Zm-Mic1. I also still need to see if AMD's Raptr works on Linux and if there's another Xsplit rip-off, as WebcamStudio seems to be dead

what the fuck am i even doing with my life

and to make shit even weirder, I pretty much plan to post the videos on a dedicated channel on Dailymotion, considering most of the garbage on there is shit reposted from Youtube, so "original" content will at least be a fresher breath

I considered DM for a bit, as a means of dodging YT's never-ending bullshit. Decided against it because the community I'm with was so vehemently opposed, but if you're not attached to anything then go for it. I for one would love to see YT's stranglehold on content broken. A dedicated LP video-hosting service would be even better, but with the advent of streaming, that may be out the window.

I need a fucking capture card for my consoles, preferably relatively cheap. What would you guys recommend?

13564f No.379

Steer clear of the Elgato. The software it comes with is atrocious, and it's very "no-frills" for the price.

Dude, the sound is literally among the most important things when it comes to making LPs. You REALLY need to focus on the sound before anything else.

>Decided against it because the community I'm with was so vehemently opposed, but if you're not attached to anything then go for it.
Yeah, that's how I'm pretty much the angle I'm aiming for. It's about time Dailymotion gets some more OC.

on newer news, actually getting the recording software by itself is a pain in the ass. Audacity is needlessly complex for simply recording my mic, while I fucking have having to activate ffmpeg from the terminal/command prompt due to me not knowing any GUI for it. And on top of that, the linux port of OBS is lightyears away. At least Openshot feels usable, unlike everything else.

When I mentioned my current mic, the sound by itself isn't too bad, the real problem is when I begin to adjust the height of the plastic stick, you receive a shitload of *KRRRRRUUNK* or anything else horrible.

Vocaroo link incoming.

>Audacity

>Blue Nessie
>Pop filter
>Avermedia Live Gamer Portable for console shit
>Sennheiser HD 650

shit, forget about the vocaroo because i'm too fuckign lazy to install flash

>pinnacle dazzle
>two scart leads
>a female audio line in for the games audio cables since the dazzle is shit with sound
>into my imac
>rock band mic with a £3 pop filter and telescopic desk mounted arm from hong kong bootleggers via usb
>capture my audio with audacity
>capture video with videoglide
>import both into premier pro for editing, effects if any are required and rendering.
>then spend 40 odd hours uploading 30 minutes of video with shitty bongland broadband.

Its SD and kind of ghetto as fug in places but works. Excluding the imac an premier pro i got from uni it probably cost me about 20 quid in total.

It'd be fantastic if you could sort the audio out a bit. 'specially for something like Sonic 2, would've been great to hear the tunes in the background. I'll keep tabs on you regardless, but that's the obvious thing that needs changing.

On the plus side you all have a very easy rapport going on, doesn't sound forced in the least, which is more than I can say for a ton of shit I've watched. Hope you guys stick with it.

Nice. I really want to do some group lps, but I am away from my friends for a little while, so I think I will probably do some single ones for now.

Thanks! I think I might re-arrange some stuff Saturday to see if I can get a mix of game sounds.

d52845 No.449

I haven't started yet, but:

>Hauppauge HDPVR (want to get a better capture device, but my friend had this lying around)

>Blue Yeti Mic
>Final Cut Pro

b5f283 No.450

What capture card would you recommend for N64, PS1, Dreamcast and older? Obviously I'd rather not have an HD card.

13564f No.452

>>450

Why not emulate & record with OBS? Save your money. Both the Dreamcast + the N64 have solid emulators these days. You can even get a Saturn emulator going if for some odd reason you wanted one.

If you really want a card, I guess a Dazzle would do the trick.

3397c9 No.708

I just bought a Roxio Game Capture to find out that it only accepts Y/CR/CB connections which means I can't use it for older generation gaming like I intended.

Is there any way around this? Is there a card around $150 that I could get that accepts HDMI/Composite/Component so I can really get the most bang for my buck?

ac4696 No.710

> HD PVR 2.

> Blue Yeti Microphone.

> Sony HDR-XR100

> Adobe Premiere.

> OBS.

> Audacity.

If I do anything with a camera, I use my camera fed into my HD PVR 2. Gets some pretty good quality. I'm also able to just record it straight to the HDD on the thing if I want to have the higher quality footage for later. Better than a basic webcam all in all.

Games are mostly Steam/PC/emulated, though I've done a number of PS2 games legit.
