BYOND, oh god, where to start.

BYOND is a platform for hipsters to feel like they're game developers by writing in a language that's like a retarded offspring of Python and C#. The language has many limitations and is prone to memory leaks. It's proprietary software, and any game created with BYOND requires you to install BYOND to play it unless you want some shitty browser game.

The forum community for BYOND is so toxic, full of Redditors and stuck up retards with no self awareness. You can't call someone out on the forums without getting branded a troll, and people often use the term "derailing" as a buzzword for "disagreeing with me".

Most time spent on the forums are spent bitching about how there are no good games on BYOND instead of talking about what they could do to better themselves. Off-Topic is basically Facebook these days, and Design Philosophy is for shit that can't be done with BYOND. Also, users can filter each other out, meaning that if a user blocks you, they cannot see your posts and you cannot reply to their threads.

BYOND's egofag. He's been on the site since 2001 when he was 13. He used to make some good contributions but then he got cucked pretty hard and his girlfriend started beating him. Now he goes to the BYOND forums so that everybody can just mindlessly worship him. He usually does this by treating Off-Topic as his Facebook, and when someone disagrees with him, he'll just write a pretentiously long essay like a Redditor and start using "muh logical fallacies" as his shield.

Current BYOND manager thingy. Just some fat fuck who used the site a long time ago, became an admin, then became an official developer. He's doing a better job than Tom(the original co-creator), but that's not saying much. The community gets extremely triggered when you make fun of him.

Basically just Reddit incarnate. He can't make any point without intentionally coming off as a douchebag, he's also a moderator, just like every other 3rd user on the site. (No, seriously, there are probably just as many moderators as there are users on the BYOND forums) Like Ter13, he has an inflated ego, and can't stand anyone disagreeing with him.

Literally has autism. The entire community hates him. He believes in a development philosophy known as "The Nexus", which is where all games on BYOND are combined into one single game. So, you'd be playing a game that has stuff from both Space Station 13 and NEStalgia, basically. Most users have him blocked, and he's been banned a few times.

They mostly spend time trying to tackle problems AAA developers solved years ago, but they've been too busy rubbing each other off to notice. This one's pretty easy, just express a desire for more anime games, make it seem like a pushed agenda.

Yeah, BYOND's forums are basically just a big dick measuring contest. You're not really gonna see anything funny there. The community's fairly small, and they all take themselves too seriously.

There is one community troll, his name is EmpirezTeam, the community loves him and he's pretty annoying at times.

Also, in the event that a post you make gets moderated, you can make another thread to start an argument with the community. Take in mind that it would require a lot of "threats"* to keep THAT thread from being deleted, though.

* I don't mean death threats, I mean threaten the reputation of BYOND and insult the community's stability. If they delete your thread, anyway, just PM them. After the PM's done, post a screenshot of them to Off-Topic and show everyone how stupid the mods are.

When I left, there was just one.
