Anyone here enjoy playing Unvanquished?

https://www.unvanquished.net/

"Unvanquished is a fast-paced, futuristic FPS with RTS elements, pitting technologically advanced humans against hordes of highly adaptable aliens. The player can choose from either team, providing a fresh gameplay experience on both sides of the conflict."

 No.137

Remind me of some other libre game that had some licensing problems.

Basically the 64 bit version of Tremulous. The only problem is that it works only on 64 bit systems. Tremulous still had more of a dedicated following, in that you will usually find someone online playing.

 No.496

Sorry, mean still HAS. As for Unvanquished I've been able to play it personally and it looks really pretty and polished. I think they play Sunday games, but I haven't seen more than maybe one person online at a time

No FoV slider? No download.

 No.648

Longtime (~5 year) Tremulous player reporting. Still haven't played Unvanquished, though I've downloaded it a couple times. Are there actually any players for it?

 No.650

How is it that it can't work on 32 bit systems?

How did they fuck up programming that much?

I didn't even know it was possible. Truly they are gods.

32bit binaries can run on 64bit systems.

64bit binaries can't run on 32bit systems.

It's really simple. Fuck 32bit plebeians.

You sound like an idiot who thinks he is smart. Time and place for a physical fight please.

For some reason I can compile DP on 32 and 64 bit systems. My question was how do you fuck up programing so much that you cannot compile on a 32 bit system.

You did not answer this question. You talked about binaries. We are on /lv/

It is actually surprisingly easy. I'll give you the 'I did it on purpose' version, and you can extrapolate to the 'this is probably what happened version' yourself.

#if ((ULONG_MAX) != (UINT_MAX))

This if thingie above is a comparison which will be true on an x86 32bit platform and not on a x86 64bit platform. This freeform string here is something that your compiler does not understand and will error out on, but when compiling for 64 bit, this "code" will not be included and thus will not error out.

#endif
