Shattered has a lot more stuff added to them game and it's actually a bit easier than the original. Still, I prefer the original because there is less shit to keep in mind.

Yeah this game has me stuck, I'm hesitating on watching a speedrun video on youtube on how to beat it.

Another game I'll probably never beat is nethack. Missing from the list on >>>/lv/1 by the way BO, it's a pretty glaring obvious omission considering how important that game is.

Maybe one of Linley Henzell's shooters like Garden of Colored Lights or White Butterfly. They've got some brutal balancing when it comes to those weapon level-up mechanics.
