So I compiled the packages for wheezy, you guys might want them. Be sure to install the extra races from the repos after install.
What I want to know is how they took what was essentially a finished game and made it into a beta?

You know what, don't fucking bother installing these. This game is totally fucking shit! I looked back at Tux Racer with fond memories but what ever the fuck they did to it is tantamount to rape! The graphics look like a bucket of smashes ass holes, and don't even get me started on where all the good fucking sounds went!
I am going to see if I can get a package of the original Tux Racer for comparison.

Alright, I did it for nostalgia sake. It's the original Tux Racer and I pulled some files from the demo. Also the options file is preconfigured, though you may want to enter your own resolution/fullscreen etc.
It's not a deb package, just a bundle. It's amd64 compiled but feel free to make your own. Just replace the binary.
