Pioneer is opengl3 only. Don't know why they even have a linux build at all. It will not run and the devs have said "FUCK YOU" to anyone with a opengl2 computer (all linux computers, few are none actually support opengl3 in the drivers)

Impaktor, don't give false hope. We're not likely to go back to an OpenGL lesser than 3, so this chip is doomed, unless using llvmpipe, which, as you showed, isn't very efficient (but is useful for us developers)

Has there ever been any progress in this direction? Forum has enough 'idea guys' who can, with great detail, elaborate on what kind of features would be really cool to have.

On the flipside; there's devs who ran in terror when they gazed upon that which is Unit. If you want an idea of what I'm talking about, pic related.

Then there's people who fork the project and are amazed they don't immediately get pull requests with new features.

That being said, there has "recently" for large values of reasonably been some additions in that there's now a dude who can teach you how to fly.

As to actually doing stuff, adding fetch, escort and destruction missions of some type or another isn't too terribly hard since it doesn't touch the engine. Strangely enough, beforementioned idea guys are very low on ideas for such tech/escort/destroy missions.
