Can't say I'm a fan of Gundam's ascetics or mech design, stuff looks way too fragile. (Yeah, I know AC has brought on Gundam artists a few times before) What do you guys think of Armored Core? What about Mechwarrior?

 No.2839

I never liked AC's gameplay and controls.

I fucking loved 4 and 4A but I can't seem to find any loadouts that work in 5 and VD. I have tried every ammo and weapon type, and I can't get past the second Ace Pilot fight in VD, the one with the Kojima missiles and machine guns. Everything I have tried just get a "No Effect" message

Also, I want this kit so fucking bad, but my autism won't let me cause of the goddamn Alicia legs. Otherwise it's perfect!

I played the entire game with twin autocannons and did fine. I just had to farm bosses for money because of how ammo inefficent they are

OMG, I love Ac4 and ACFA! I loved the story, and the game-play. I just wish the co-op worked. I hope they make a 7th installment that is more like the 4.

The mechs in 4 and fA had some really damn fragile looking mechs. The PA mechanic explained it, and you were often about as fragile as you looked.

VD uses a system of 3 damage types, HE, CE and KE. Almost all enemies will be strong against at least one of these so pack multiple weapons, preferably hit all 3 damage types.

You might also be too far. Effective range is way lower than lock on range for most setups.

 No.2880

1-3 had silly controls. 4 & FA were amazing. V/VD are awful.

 No.3654

Am I the only one that hated the mecha designs as the series progressed? 4 mecha looked like lanky ass spikey edge bots, and all of 5 were Tieren wannabes

 No.3661

I haven't played any of the PS1 titles. Silent Line and Last Raven are my favorites in the series. I dislike 4 and am okay with fA. I mostly hate the fragile look of the ACs in 4/fA. The fast paced gameplay is interesting, but I don't find it all that enjoyable.

I fucking hate V, but played a lot with a great group of guys. I enjoyed the hell out of VD and have been actively searching for a new team to join after a six month lapse. Almost everything about VD works for me.

Overall, the one consistent aspect I love throughout the series is the soundtrack.

 No.3666

love 4/fa and 5/VD both for very different reasons

 No.3682

I enjoyed 4, FA, and V, but I could not get into VD. Mostly because of the UNACs. I was hoping for something neat to fuck around with as I played, but I started to realize that I wasn't gud enough to consistently field UNACs and make money. That and the weird over-saturation of the colors mostly turned me off the game.

UNACs are fucking crazy. Tune them properly and they can rip apart an overconfident/ill-prepared team. Tune them improperly and they're basically giant, metal dildos with guns. I love UNACs.

 No.5019

Hey guys. Any chance someone would be able to help me out with a problem I have with my copy of ACVD?

I've posted on another thread, here. >>5017

The great thing is the swappable part system exists in the models too. Buy something with nice legs and swap away.

Complaining about color is stupid, this is armored core you turd, paint it.

I liked the PSone and PS2 era games a lot, not only for the gameplay but the mecha design.

The new games, bar Verdict Day, have been pretty underwhelming (to a degree admittedly).

 No.5061

Just started playing Armored Core for the first time. Started with 4, going on to for answer.

At first wasn't sold but after thinking about it I really liked it.

I only ever played Armored Core on the Playstation, but of all the mech-fighter titles i've played, I enjoyed it the most. There was so much variety of parts, and slotting, and you could make your robot do a lot of things okay, or one thing exceptionally well, and it was fun

Of course, I think Phantom Crash was amazing, and that it's only limiting down side was that there were only three Core's to build off of, and only 3 or 4 maps.

If it had 5 or more cores, and 10+ maps, it would probably have been one of the best mech fighters EVAR.

>I'm a huge faggot
