FUTURE floppies. Bitch don't know how much memory those things can handle at that point in time.

Minovsky particles did it. They blew up all other storage mediums.

I don't think Future Century has Minovsky particles.

Typical problems with trying to represent tech in shows. It's often better to go with what you know then try to bullshit something.

This was written in a time when those were still the major means of sharing data, so it's recognizable.

It's silly in hindsight, but it's the way it goes with writing for the most part. Sometimes it isn't the writer, but actually the animators or director that make the change.

It's a self perpetrating culture thing.

This is also what a computer looks like in the series.

Makes sense. You don't want others to get your information. Naturally you choose a floppy to store all the secret info on, because the enemy computers are far too advanced and lack floppy drives. In fact they probably don't even know what a floppy is, and their spies are looking for hypermicroSD cards, maybe holocubes.

That's not realy surprising, how long has it taken for sci-fi to start featuring glass cockpits, HMD's and thermal optics?
More folks need to hire experts and consultants if the want to avoid rapid zeerust.
