So I just watched Macross Zero and oh boy the fight scenes looked cool but what a load of crap. Why would you make a prequel to Macross and fill it with alien magic bullshit and then have the love interests teleport to god knows where at the end. I liked the idea of the Macross falling to earth being our first contact with aliens but this messes up that. I also found it weird that they would paint the anti-UN forces that were being forced to join the "earth nation" as the evil group.
