I'm almost done with Mobile Fighter G Gundam.

I have Turn A and X downloaded. Which should I watch first?

 No.5247

gundam X I guess

X if you're in the mood for romance.

Turn A if you wanna be comfy.

 No.5252

>>5249
Turn A is a wonderful show, what the fuck is wrong with you?

 No.5257

>>5250
I don't really care much for romance.

Gundam X for maximum firepower and super lasers.

Turn A for the most overpowered Gundam in the entire Gundam metaseries and slice of life.

My recommendation is to watch Turn A last, considering that it's canonically last.

>Dissing Turn A
But why anon, what did Loran every do to you?

>most overpowered Gundam
You'd have to read the novels for that. Turn-A's on-screen performance is pretty meh compared to things like 00 Raiser, AGE-FX, and Freedom.
Even the supposedly colony-laser-tier beam rifle looks puny compared to Virtue or Double X.

inb4 people claim a Degeneracy/Black Hole engine was low on power

Watching X first will make Turn A better.

I just realised I only have 1 image of Gundam X so if someone has any feel free to dump some here.

B…b…but I love you senpai!

But yeah, X is pretty badass even ignoring the love arc. It also has the most hype gundam opening ever.

 No.5290

>>5289
I never got "hype" during either of the openings but I have heard this a few times what one are you talking about. X is pretty great its a shame its so overlooked its one of the few truly good AUs (along with Turn A of course.)

I was referring to the Bullshit Butterfly. Turn A is like Power Man in that regard, the only known defense to MB is another MB. Even then they cancel each other out in eternal stalemate As for the Turn A's beam rifle, considering that it's a piece of ancient technology kept together only by nanomachines, I'm surprised that it works as well as it does

Keeping the interplanetary and interstellar shenanigans of the side works out, a mobile suit that can physically dissolve other mobile suits - and any technology - into dust is pretty overpowered
Your Trans-Am 00-Raiser, AGE-FX, Strike "McBeamSpam" Freedom and Double X would be toast if exposed to a Turn unit's Moonlight Butterfly, the only mobile units that could feasibly withstand the MB are ones with I-field generators, even then MS's like the Crossbone can only keep it up for so long

 No.5325

>>5317

Don't forget the ability to warp and curve beam shots, cloak, instantaneously teleport both the suit and other things (including aforementioned beam shots), and regenerate both the suit and its pilot (even from the dead!) with nanotech. The ∀-99 is, for all intents and purposes, indestructible.

 No.5326

>>5325
The real purpose of the Turn A is to take on an entire planet's military after conducting an INTERSTELLAR voyage
It's also expected to win

It's heavily implied in the anime and supplementary work that the Turn A is developed after the capture/discovery of the Turn X, technically making it a more powerful unit than the Turn X at maximum power and condition.

The Turn A was intended for mass production, complete with the Moonlight Butterfly system
Imagine an army of technology melting mechanized giants screaming out from the blackness of interstellar space

 No.5331

>>5326

Yeah, I know. Kinda wish they'd done a series about all that, it would've been amazing.

Gundam isn't gong anywhere anon, all we have to do is wait for some Turn A prequel work

G reco?

 No.5334

>>5333
I suspect that the Turn X wasn't found until long after a significant conflict drives the colonies away from the Solar System. There is always Grey Stroke/Judau Ashta's Newtype colony turned generation ship from Crossbone/Victory Gundam
After all, we don't know how many years Universal Century lasted and we don't quite know where the Reguild Century fits in. We also don't have concrete knowledge on how exactly the Turn X was found or how the situation in the unnamed human civilization that found the Turn X deteriorated to the point of unleashing the Turn A's Moonlight Butterfly from Earth to Jupiter

I personally doubt the G-Reco is related to Turn A outside of being a distant part of Turn A's history.

OK, watched first several episodes of Gundam X during the downtime.

 No.5455

>>5334
Actually we do know some of those things. We know G-Reco's RC calendar immediately follows UC according to Tomino.
We also know from Tomino's notes in Turn-A data books that the Moonrace from Turn-A used the Sacktraeger to get to the moon, and that it was built after the Adeska elevator was destroyed.

So, basically, for the Moonrace to find the Turn-X means that it happened after all the other Gundam series because the Sacktraeger wasn't there in G, Wing, or X (or SEED, AGE, or 00 if you believe the TX manual).
G-Reco is 7,000 years too soon to have anything to do with the Turns.

You do realize that it does not melt ANYTHING in the series, right?
You see Merrybell making ominous clouds with it but you don't see it destroy a single MS with MLB. Everything remotely impressive about Turn-A comes from side materials. On-screen it was a laundry machine.

My friend keeps on saying I need to watch seed, Is seed any good?

kira is a fucking mary sue

tell him to watch the original MSG

 No.5469

Its reputation is severely inflated. It's not actually that bad, though it has a LOT of flashbacks and otherwise reused footage.
I would say yes, you should watch it and form your own opinion instead of just believing other people.

The Butterfly can dissemble organic material as well. Remember Gym's final moments.

>>5456

>laundry machine

haha I see what you did there (video related)

But really, you forget the beam rifle, beam swords, and shield which weren't 'side materials'. Also the aforementioned warping/teleporting ability, the cloaking, and the regeneration. Yes, that last one happened in the show (the mustache).

Im almost done with the Uc time line so Ill watch it next.

Seed starts off okay, but jumps the shark. Oh and the reused animations make Wing look like a masterwork.

 No.5480

>>5479
is it as bad as '79?

 No.5485

>>5480
>79 bad

It suffers from lack of experience.

Seed is just pure laziness.

 No.5488

>>5480
The nicest way I can put it on the animation basis is that they put most of their animation budget into characters as opposed to the mechs. They more or less did one take on each mech action and said "good enough", this becomes especially apparent in the second half.

Oh and the character designs suffer from the worst case of sameface since the Clone Wars.

I think he meant in terms of stock footage, which 79 was pretty guilty of (Every time Amuro is hit the same footage of him repeatedly bouncing around like a pinball in spite of his harness is shown. The Gundam always launches with the bazooka even if it uses the beam rifle.)
