Hi, I'm Ikazuchi.

I work at a military store and we sell military patches along with guns.

My boss was thinking of expanding his line of patches to anime themed ones. I know nothing about Strike Witches as I didn't watch it. However, I know a lot about Kancolle and Girls und Panzer. Since I'm the only one in the store who watches anime, the boss instructed me on doing some research. He wants to know if anime themed patches are profitable.

Here's what I'm trying to do:
I'm going to bulk order either 1000 or 1600 patches. There will be 50 of each design, so 20 - 32 designs in total. I am still in the process of choosing a patch company to make the patches.

Second of all, I'm going to use Patch-kun's designs to make the patches. Here's the link: http://www.helma.us/sw/res/4304.html#4823 I tried contacting Patch-kun via email as well as Kickstarter, but I doubt he's going to reply back. Worst, I can't find a way to contact /ak/ scanlations (Patch-kun is from there, right?)

Third of all, I'm going to create a patch based on the Kancolle Logo.

Fourth of all, I'm also making patches based on the 6 schools in Girls und Panzer.

Finally, all patches will be EMBROIDERED and in 3.5x3.5 inches. Sounds good? Oh, and they will have velcro backing.

The store I work at is located in Canada. So if you're from the US, shipping will probably be $1-3 if you buy from us. My store also does INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. I'm also trying to sell the patch for $6 each or lower.

I need a lot of feedback to make this work. I don't need Kickstarter to back me up. And I bet Indiegogo will suspend me if the project ever succeeds.

Please let me know if Patch-kun's designs are off. I'll ask my Graphic Arts friend to do the adjustments.

READ THIS, IMPORTANT:

Who ever is vectoring the Girls und Panzer patches, please send the vectors at ikazuchipatches@gmail.com. Thank you.

Scan of Anzio High's logo can be found in spreadsheet. Please vector that.

Everyone, please review the Strike Witches patches for any imperfections. Thank you. The placement of the lettering in all the SW patches are off by a little. Can someone fix them for me? Thanks. Refer to https://data.archive.moe/board/a/image/1421/21/1421212117992.gif to see what I mean.

I'd buy it, but I have never attached a patch to anything. I can sew pretty well, just no experience in this.

I actually have a few lying around, i'm just too worried i'd fuck it up. That Reach patch was the last decent piece of bonus content Halo will ever have.

Most patches have velcro on the back nowadays. So you'd just need the fuzzy side sewn on.

>>5578
I'd buy a few off you.

Mine are basically solid pieces of cloth, no velcro. Not sure if they cheaped out or not.

I'd buy that in an instant.

Gundam. MSG Unicorn, more specifically. There are tons of patches from Gundam I'd love to buy. AEUG, Zeon, Anaheim Electronics, ECOAS, Londo Bell, etc.

Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn).

I'd ask for a Rosenritter patch but surprisingly enough it seems that a company (COSPA?) is already making them
(HOW COME YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THIS /m/)

Because unlike 4chan's /m/, 8chan's /m/ is slow as hell. This thread has been dead for less than a week now.

TL;DR: Email to ikazuchipatches@gmail.com if you want Strike Witches patches.

Bad news guys. Project is a failer. Here's the story:

I live in Canada, and any illegal shit I do like making unlicensed, bootleg velcro patches can turn into a huge national security issue. I'm talking about the CBSA and regional police cracking me down, pressing charges on me, and me going to jail for 5 years if caught.

Turns out, it's not as simple as getting a Cease or Desist letter according to a certain friend of mine who knows the law at the back of his head. Sure, I can continue the patch project if I do it in China. I'd be immune in China, but considering how shit China is and the fact that I will have no future there, I won't be setting course there.

I talked it out with my boss how I'll be doing this alone etc etc etc, but he just doesn't want to take the risk. Plus those CBSA guys are good at their job and will trace my patch project to him. That's bad for his business and bad reputation ain't good. Also, my boss cares about my parents, and he doesn't want my parents to pay for the fines inflicted from the bust.

I'm a young adult and I don't even have $5000 to pay for fines.

So there you have it. Patch project is done for.

Unless you can come up with a genius idea that's national agency bullet proof, then let me know below. Otherwise, boss says this project is a no go.

HOWEVER!! There is hope. He said I can proceed with the project as long as I can get the okay sign from the copyright holders. I'm going to try contacting the manga authors who own the designs for the logos/emblems and see if I can strike a deal with them.

For the mean time, Strike Witches patches is impossible because they currently exist here: http://www.k-supply.biz/501/index.html

Yea, I know. Who the fuck is going to buy patches for $30 each? Only crazy AKB48 super fans, that is (get my joke?). The least we can do is wait until they stop production, then I can sell Strike Witches patches without getting in trouble (with Manga Author's approval).

Also selling patches on eBay is a no go, because apparently, it costs money to open up an e-store there and they add 4% charge on top of each successful sold item.

I can try asking you guys to send me money through Paypal to fund the project, but hey, you guys don't know me, so why should you trust me when Patch-kun back at helma.us failed you guys and took away your money?

I can try gathering funds myself to sell patches privately, but I need people who I can trust.

Here's what I'm going to try doing:
Make this patch https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_iAVf25HINqRG5TWGJiNzdUZWs/edit and this patch http://puu.sh/esyfL/f031bbe6ef.gif.

This is the math: 2 designs x $4 per patch x 50 patches = $400

I can earn $400 in less than 6 months. I'm going to sell patches for $8 each so that I can do batch 2 after I sold out all of batch 1's patches. That way, I can earn back $400 to do batch 2 to do 2 more patches in Strike Witches. Sounds fun?

If you want this project to happen, be sure to send me an email at ikazuchipatches@gmail.com and say "I'm in!" to participate. When I'm ready to sell the patches, I will email you all. It's too risky to sell them on 8chan because I don't know if Funimation is lurking around here or not.

Lol the canadian FBI busting someones door down for selling patches. Maybe you should move to a real country.

Hey, don't blame me. That's what I said too, but my friends who have connections with the authorities says otherwise.

Your friends are retards

There's no law saying you can't do this

That would mean you could go get fined for drawing something copyrighted

 No.5877

>>5875
The issue is more he'd be selling it than that he'd be producing it.

 No.5885

>>5875
My friends are not retarded. Maybe it's different in the US, but I can get in serious shit if I'm producing and selling bootleg at the same time. If I bought bootleg from 3rd party and sell them, then I should be okay.

This is more on the lines of mass producing them in large numbers. This isn't doujin work, rather, I'm directly using official artwork to produce something illegally instead of drawing my own version. Vector tracing official art is not doujin.

So I think you need to think harder next time before you call my friends retards.

 No.5890

>>5877
And you can sell artwork you made legally.

>>5885
I'm calling your friends retards and I'm about to call you retarded too.

 No.5893

>>5890
Sure, no problem then. I can't tell what my friends' jobs are, but they are high tiered jobs. I trust them more than you, and I want to minimize the risk as much as I want. I have a dream as a ship designer and that is a grand dream.

 No.5894

I think Londo Bell is quite a nice one I saw quite a few people on the shitty gundam subreddit using that emblem so it's quite popular.

He didn't create those Logos bro.
