My vote goes to Gundam Assault Survive. Battle Universe is good, too, but while it has atmospheric effects like rain and fog it doesn't have Flags or Freedom.
GAS cut a bunch of supporting-character and side-story pilots to make room for the SEED and 00 eras, but the only MS cut were the abstract GM and Saku.

The next version, Gundam SEED Battle Destiny for Vita has better graphics but is SEED and Destiny only and really assed up the flight controls.

Last Raven and Silent Line are the best AC games. For Answer is pretty entertaining, especially if you like fast. People are pretty split when it comes to V, but Verdict Day really improved upon that game. The biggest problem is a huge focus on online play, which is sparsely populated at this point. You can still enjoy it with a friend, though, or even on your own with SP. I imagine it's cheap now. It's a big difference in style after For Answer, that's for sure.

It's messed up that the Z'Gok hasn't been playable in any of the more recent VS games considering how much of a rapemachine it is in basically all of its playable appearances.
