Which subgroups does /m/ think is best for each of the Gundam series?

For 0079 I really think people should just watch the dub. It's VERY obvious the original audio was recorded 35 years ago and it's totally incomprehensible at parts.

It's a shame that Zeta's dub used completely green talent instead of the 0079 actors.

I find it really jarring when the visuals are dated from a particular time and the audio doesn't match.
Like those Sukeban Dekas when they couldn't swing the music rights for DVD so production music attacks and all of the sudden the dialog is recorded on completely different equipment.

0079's animation isn't THAT bad. Full of stock footage, QUALITY and has limited movement, but it still works, especially when the original footage is scanned at a modern resolution.

Maybe it's because I'm used to old audio quality, and am using subs because I can't differentiate between good Japanese and Japanese somewhat obscured by old audio quality, but it doesn't seem to bother me. In fact I don't really notice it.

It's not "obscured": Lines that weren't rerecorded (dead/retired VAs) are just staticy messes, especially if someone is shouting.

I don't mind the old animation at all, just mixing that with shiny new audio that's clearly recorded recently. I find it jarring.

Like I dig the Daimos dub because it sounds like a dub recorded for an old robot show back then.

Clearly the future of dubbing old robot cartoons is to master it digitally, then transfer it to magnetic tape, then back to digital to get all the proper hisses and pops.

Is there any important difference in EG and OZC? Those are the ones I seen used more often

Compared to something animated 20 years earlier, I would say so
