In my opinion, there's no reason to have a distinction between /m/ and /a/ on 8chan, not at the current speeds. /a/ is already slow and starved for content. Nobody there would be angry about posting more mecha threads there. I don't think anyone here is here cause they're angry at 4chan, they just want another site to browse, so there is basically no reason for /m/ here to be active.
There's no reason for /m/ not to exist either, but it's too slow to be a discussion board. In my opinion it could be a news feed of sorts. For example, I made a thread about the Victory Gundam BDs about a month ago when RX-78 announced hr would be subbing that. That seems like a way to make /m/ more useful. When there's interesting news in the scene, make a thread here, so if you miss it on 4chan it won't 404 here.
So, I agree with shilling for /m/ shows on /a/, if that is something you want to discuss here. It was lonely last season, wanting to discuss fafner and no one else on 8chan seemed to be watching it. Instead of trying to make /m/ active, help make /a/ or /am/ active and come here to post big news.
