So why don't mechs ever have keys? The only one that comes to mind is Megas. They seem to get stolen by bratty teenagers a lot, adding an ignition key in to the cockpit would have solved pretty much all of the Titan's problems with the AEUG, for instance.

The Gundam X's need G-Controllers to be activated.

This won't cause less teenagers to steal them its just going to lead to more teenagers getting in them while they key is in the ignition or them hotwiring mechs. Stupid teens get your mechs off my lawn.

Because most military bases are guarded by competent MPs, not the Titans

Also tanks and jets don't have keys

And look what happens because of that

Most IRL military hardware lacks any sort of key for the ignition. It's because, when shit's hitting the fan, you don't want to have to fuck around with keys.

 No.7581

Well, you at least think some of them would have killswitches/remote shutdowns. There's way too many gundams getting stolen by the other side, you think they'd be able to just turn them off and retrieve them.

I mean, at least for the test types and the like.

This.
If an enemy makes it into the vehicle, everything has already gone wrong.

It's just an M-60, it doesn't matter.
