Hmm, it's a rule variation but most places allow it. However it's also pretty rare and not something you can really play around, and most pc/browser games would prompt you anyway, so i don't feel it's worth mentioning in a cheatsheet.

Riichi furiten means if you pass on a winning tile you can't ron with that hand anymore, in regular furiten you can't ron if one of your winning tiles is on your discards.

Temporary furiten comes if you get riichiless tenpai and you pass on a ron, then you can't ron until your next discard.

Reading discards is something you shouldn't bother to try doing until you're at a certain high level. Just focus on tile efficiency and basic defense, those two will take you very far.

That +8 or +16 is just your game score, it has nothing to do with your rank points.

Closest I've done is declare kyuushuu kyuuhai on tenpai for kokushi musou in touhou unreal mahjong because I was so used to using china's power to make myself wareme, and the prompt looks the same when you can't read kanji.

I know that feeling too well, especially since iipeikou is my most satisfying yaku.

It's kinda like when you have this gigantic baiman or sanbaiman, then you realize you can turn your hand into a specific yakuman with a bit more effort, but that would kill every other yaku so it would feel like shit even though you're getting more.

Maybe it's based on the available tiles? Hon-Itsu is one suit with which means 36 tiles, Yakuhai has 12 Dragon tiles + 8 possible wind tiles, a total of 56 tiles.

While Ryanpeikou is limited by the menzen and sequence-requirement, it can be built with all three sets, so you have a total 108 tiles to use.

There are more available tiles, but you also need to be way more specific with your available tiles. Once you've got two sequences in two suits, you've then effectively got to fulfill six separate waits to complete your ryanpeikou, of which each wait has a maximum of 3 tiles remaining, so at most six groups of 3, or 18 tiles, and if all three of any of those groups are drawn by other players or in the dead wall, your ryanpeikou is impossible to complete.

In the main Tenhou menu, the fifth tab, it shows a list of your most recent games, click 牌譜 to watch your replay. A little more to the right there should be a link, thats the link you're supposed to give other people so they can watch the replay too.
