Washing Time! So how do ya'll wash your dakis and how often?
I was mine every 2-3 months. I know I should do it at least every month, but 90% of the time I remember to do it I'm either in the mood to cuddle with it, already getting ready to do to bed, or the washing machine is already being used. As for the method, I fold it inside out, fold that into thirds and then stuff it inside a pillow case in order to reduce damage on the fabric. I usually stick it in there with another blanket or something on the Handwash setting with both detergent and fabric softener. If I don't have time for legit washing/drying and it still is reeking from my stank then I'll spritz some Febreeze on there

I’m planning on making the big jump and buy my first daki of Flandre. Fortunately, many models are available of her; unfortunately, many do not fit my needs: They are either way too lewd, have weird faces, weird bodies, have boobs, etc.

My advice would be to commission an artist to do the art for it for you. It will cost more money, and take longer, but in my opinion it's worth it to have something made just for you, rather than just a stock picture that tons of other people probably have. The artist who did mine is closed right now, but if you asked in the commission thread I'm sure some people could recommend some artists for you to contact. You can then send it to Hobbyheart and get a custom daki cover.
Also, of my two dakis, one is from Hobbyheart and the other is from moegallery, so I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with either.

I haven't commissioned a daki myself I'm too shy because that seems more intimate than random waifu drawings, but I have commissioned artists before.
You don't have to have a detailed image set in your head, but you're likely to have better results if you do. Most artists that I've worked with, if you're doing an image that is highly detailed like a daki would be, are going to give you WIPs to make sure that they're doing the image correctly. You can always ask them to make changes to your liking, although try to get them at as early a stage as possible because it's harder to fix things later on.
Also, most artists love references so giving references is a good idea. Some artists think that more than a few pictures is overboard though so make sure you read the artist's terms before sending 20 pictures if they say 5 maximum or something. (Most aren't that exact, but you know what I mean.)
16crystals, I've given artists similar descriptions to yours before when I didn't mind if the artist took some liberties. If you really want something super specific, try to put an image in your mind first. Also it's okay to say things like "please don't make this lewd" or "I want her to not be wearing socks".

There are several people who mentioned here how the main reason for them to not having dakis is that they could not reconcile buying one with having people start asking questions in case they would see it I count myself in that group. It’s done! I finally ordered my first daki from Moe Gallery! Among the 4 candidates that I had pre-selected, I finally chose this one.
Although her facial expression is a bit weird and her hair looks somewhat too thick, this model had many advantages. First of all, I very like her body proportions and her silhouette. Also, she has the best looking skin; the colors and the light reflection are the more realistic. Even the red of her dress looks more vivid and you can even see the shape of her legs through it. I also like both her poses. Finally, side B is erotized but not lewd; I like seeing her legs, her cute belly and her chest, but think it’s beautifully erotic that her skirt just gently covers her genitals. Oh, and also, she has no boobs (I censured it, but it’s a flat chest); I don’t like when they depict lolis with boobs.
