In her source material? You mean, how other characters feel toward her in the story?
Well, her class flocks to her and she's quite a leader and social butterfly, and everyone around her looks up to her as a motherly, kind figure, Hanako especially. The protagonist in the route where they end up together, too. But she also needs support, and not many people get close to her - she really only has Hanako and her sister Akira. The only person who hates her is her cousin, who can't communicate with her and has had arguments with her over how the student council should be ran, in effect making Lilly leave it. And there is her family - her father abandoned his daughters for a promotion and to him they seem to mean very little. Of course, she wouldn't be who she is without that abandonment, but that doesn't mean I don't get to hate him.
As to the reactions I got to her on the internet, well…
Some people think she's a Mary Sue designed for losers to fall in love with (well, okay, that design goal seems to have been accomplished with me), even though the point of her story is that she also has problems and that she's too shy and scared to try to solve them until it's too late, something I have observed in myself.
The KS forum community ranges from the above to loving her and writing fanfiction about her - some of which really good - and I'm told that there have been Lilly waifuists there; I never checked.
The Polish chan Karachan, despite having a cohesive community and culture, as well as a well-thought-out system of newfag access denial, suffers from several fatal flaws, like the sense of depression and defeatism exceeding Wizchan's at times, cynicism about everything and last but definitely not least, not liking Lilly. Here are some reactions I got:
>Why would you ever love a blind girl, she'd fall under a car and die on you!
>What the above anon said, and how would you show her your dank memes? The only acceptable girls for an anon are armless alternative (=hipsterish) painters!
I have since deleted the bookmark, the Adblock filters, and the dank memes in question, and I hate the place. I didn't even bother posting her on Vichan, the place is cynical normalfag central and I can imagine the reaction as:
>but Anon, you know that the virginal basement dweller is just a meme, right?
>Oh, look, the fucking undersocialized weebs strike again! You just want a waifu because you want a fairytale romance… (et cetera)
If you want to know how bad the place is - the /waifu/ board there is for posting celebrity crushes. I shit you not, so it is.
Now, 8ch has been really good, what I got on the boards other than /mai/ was:
>Nice waifu, man.
>'Lily is good waifu' (verbatim)
>Good pick, OP, let me post mine.
>amazingly, only 1 instance of "you're waifu a shit" to date, though I guess it's because I don't go on /a/, /b/, or the other "we hate everything" boards as much as I used to before meeting her.
