How would you want your kids to be schooled? Would you let them into the public school system, or your regional equivalent? Enroll them into a private school? Become her teacher yourself?

What sorts of things would you want them to learn?

Would you take an active role in their education, or would you be more passive?

If you have a significant other, what would they want to do? Would they agree with you?

I would prefer to enroll Butters in a private school, he gets too much bullying in his current one, and I want him to have a better education than what public schools offer.

I'd want him to learn mathematics, classical literature, music, history, and the hard sciences.

I would take an active role, helping him with homework and studies where I can.

I'm sure Lilly would agree, being a teacher herself, she must see the importance of a proper education.

Well Kiarara already graduated from highschool so she's fine. Geraldine seems to be doing just fine in her Japanese private school and I wouldn't want to separate her from her friends.

Chino is already somewhat undecided between going to private or staying on the public but i think she wants to stick with the one shes on.

Yune likes learning so i think she would like to go to school. She would most likely go to the same school as Chino but i would let her choose too.

I'd help them with anything school related if i could though Aya would be more adequate to help them with their studies because she actually has good grades

Ideally I'd like to educate them ourselves. I don't have a very positive opinion of most forms of schooling I've came across. Given how things are in Gensokyo this seems easily done.

Their early education would just be practical stuff like chores, habits, etc. That sort of thing. They'll learn a lot doing this because children are naturally curious and don't need incentives to learn.

Youmu will teach them how to fight. On this front I'll probably teach them magic. Important skills to have in Gensokyo.

Reading, writing, and math come to mind for intermediate subjects. I want to teach them science but I'm not sure how it should be approached. Science is fun to learn about but the way it's taught is almost just for entertainment. There's plenty of ways you can apply science to your life for solutions to problems but it never gets taught that way in class.

Once they're mature enough to really reason we'll start teaching them about history, literature, and philosophy. It'd get sprinkled in before then but I don't think Youmu would want them learning about it in depth until they've got the rest of their ducks in order and I agree.

There'll be a lot of crossover in skills. Like say needing to make furniture and then decorating it. It combines math, some science, and the decorating can be used to teach them about things like history and culture.

We would teach them about mongol and orc history. We would make sure they could read and write. They would know how to survive with nothing in the wilderness and how to fight.

They would learn to never sacrifice their connection to nature for a more comfortable life.

This post goes all over the place, sorry.

Well, considering that Keisuke and I are probably both going to be working class for the foreseeable future, public school is the only true possibility. I don't doubt that I'm smart enough to homeschool our kids and I probably will supplement their education at home (especially while they're still in elementary school), but I don't think I'll have enough time to completely homeschool if I want to make sure we're all fed. Plus, I think it's best for kids to interact with others their own age as much as possible, even if not all interactions are perfect. I won't lie, I'd probably worry about both of them getting bullied, but there's not much I can do about that except to prepare them for the worst. If possible, they could go to private high school (one of them is definitely smart enough to do this on scholarship), because hopefully I'll have a better job by then so we could afford it. I think they'd rather not be separated so we'll see what happens.

I think they should both learn what they're interested in, as well as things that are practical. It's difficult because I think that my kids actually have pretty different needs in terms of what they want/need to learn. One of my kids needs no help at all with English or history, whereas Asriel probably does. I'd try to help them where they struggle and encourage them where they do well. Obviously, they need to know stuff like English, math, and science. I don't see either of my kids being into my favorite science (physics), funnily enough, but instead chemistry and biology respectively. As for other subjects, I can see them being into art and music. They are both creative kids. Honestly, I also hope they get a class like woodshop or similar. There are a lot of skills that I don't have that I wish I did that I could have learned from that class. I think Asriel would enjoy it, too. Both of them would probably be interested in computer science but I also see them both getting very frustrated with it, haha.

Asriel has a soft heart so I think there may be a few days where he comes home from school crying because of something he learned in history. Poor thing. The other kid might get into trouble sometimes for smart-talking, which I'd have to discipline, or fighting back against bullies or protecting Asriel, and I'd fight as hard as I could to make sure that it doesn't happen again. I know from experience that it will, but I don't want my kids to have to suffer more than they already have.

I think both Keisuke and I would be as active as possible in our kids' educations, and we'd love to go to any extracurriculars as well. I bet Keisuke would help out if either of them decided they wanted to play a sport and help coach or assist at games, and I could definitely help if they were musically or dramatically inclined with costumes or music directing. Or even it's something different that I haven't thought of, like a math or science team where I couldn't actively help much, I'd love to be there to cheer them on and assist with travel or whatever they needed. We want our children to be the best they can be, so supporting them the best we can is a no-brainer.

I know that putting them into a public school would have a lot of social advantages, and give them a "normal" experience to grow up in, but I have a feeling that we'd home school our kids. Not to mention the drop in quality as well as the national focus being on standardized testing. Oddly enough, I grew up in public schools while she went to a private school (technically) for most of her life, so home schooling would be something totally different from what we experienced.

The main reason why I'd opt for home schooling though, is because Victorique is extremely knowledgeable and would make for a great teacher. Not to mention that if it was with our kids, she'd be much more patient as well. She probably could do all the basic subjects, but with a strong focus in literature/history. I would most likely pitch in as well and help the kids with their writing as well as teaching them cursive; we'd need to combine our heads though to teach them anything math related though.

Along with that we'd be sure to teach them both French and English at an early age (since up until about age 6 I believe, learning languages is extremely easier for children, and they don't get the meaning/words mixed up due to stuff with the brain). P.E. and things along those lines would most likely be trips/hikes into the woods as a family. I'd worry about them socially, but so long as they made a few friends nearby, they would probably be fine.
