Well yeah, here is how I viewed it:
One would consider Trump’s political agenda as absurd, so in order to underline this absurdity, one would pretend that Trump has the completely absurd project of making anime ‘’real’’. One would then make a satirist collage of waifus claiming to support Trump and then send it directly to the big man.
I also thought this might have been in reaction to Republican Rick Wilson’s contemptuous comment about Trump supporters masturbating to anime:

I tried to pirate the books my school required but I couldn't find them anywhere.
I'm not sure what a good book for design would be. The ones I had mostly rehashed things I had already learned or were just teaching you to use the software. Which contains some good tips but that just takes practice so you know how to do things efficiently.
Don't bother studying art history until you have a solid understanding of the basics. Otherwise you won't be able to see what makes the composition work. Do study it eventually though. Not only do you learn about history but you see get to know some of the best artwork throughout history.
Study grids if you want to do any extensive typography/layout.
Look up tutorials on how to use the pen tool. An extreme amount of design stuff is vector graphics so knowing how to use it quickly and efficiently is foundational. You can practice this making anime vectors but vectoring logos/icons perfectly is also needed. If you have a tiny mistake in an anime vector it won't really be noticible. It will in a logo. Pro Trip: keep a folder/file of common logo's and icons. Saves you a ton of time. You'd be surprised the amount of people that vector them fresh every time. USE THE WIDTH TOOL. Plain paths look horrible for lineart and shape layers take too much time.
If you want to do anything with the web study UX. For coding I retaught myself HTML/CSS using this: http://htmldog.com/
It's not the best guide but it'll get you a good overview of how things work now. Play with it as you go along to see how it works.
A general understanding of psychology is really solid. Helps you pound home the point of whatever you're making.
Hilariously I've learned far more about design outside of school than in. Gigantic waste of money. Absolutely do not go to school for this shit. There's a reason so many people going to school for this are shit at it. I'm salty about the whole thing.

Sui has an outline around her because I made the originals in a weird hacky way. I didn't feel like re-rendering it so I left it as is.
You may want to play around with the feathering on the flags a bit depending on your pic. Just paint with a large soft brush on the masks. Those are the layers with two pictures. Click the black and white bit. You "erase" and "paint in" the picture without actually destroying it. Bit hard to explain but easy to get once you use it.
