Every year in the small town i grew up in, we would have a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Nothing crazy, we have a nice evergreen planted in the middle of town, and we'd decorate it every year with lights and other stuff, sometimes teachers would get kids to make stuff to put on.
We'd close a couple streets, and every year one of the town groups would set up little stalls and sell you a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie for a quarter.
A good amount of the town would show up, usually a at least 300-400 through the course of the night, and we where just a town of 2000 including surrounding rural areas. So there's always familiar faces, neighbors, people you see every day and all the time. not to mention i had like, 50 family members in that small town, and some in the town next over since for some reason everyone all migrated to be together
And you're all getting together to feel the Christmas spirit together. And enjoy the cold night air.
I just want to go to that with Miia, both of us wearing warm clothing, hand in hand. Both of us wandering around and visiting with people, me introducing miia to some of the teachers i liked in school. Finding a bench to just sit down and look at the stars and the tree after it had been lit. Both of us just taking it easy and sipping on our hot chocolate and enjoying the night.
And years later after we've had a little sneklett, we'll all walk hand in hand with her in between us. She'll slither around and play with the other town kids and have a blast. She'll come up to me and miia after a bit of playing and asking if she can get some hot chocolate like her friends did, and I'll have a pocket full of quarters ready for action in case any of us want an extra cookie, or more hot coco to warm up.
Miia and i would just sit comfy and watch her play
