To be honest history is just propaganda. Take up an ideology and then start believing the propaganda that you want. That's what both sides in an issue usually do. But what sounds better, communism or capitalism? Communism of course, so it's better to believe and spread the propaganda of communism.
That idea aside, a lot of the "mass murder" sources that most people are indrectly referencing have been demonstrated to contain fabricated information. I'll say a few things that I believe probably have a greater similarity to the "truth", than bourgeois history. When you read something, a good practice is to try to find the original source of that idea/piece of information/meme. Don't just trust popular ideas, especially concerning communism, because the ruling class media purposely portrays communism and the history of communism in an extremely bad light as part of their own propaganda.
1. Removing counterrevolutionary agents, saboteurs, and corrupt bureaucrats from the party - good thing.
2. Not really sure about this, doesn't sound like a big deal.
3. A famine occured, but it wasn't maliciously created by the Bolsheviks or anything. There was a lot of strife against the rich peasants (kulaks) in the countryside and they hoarded and destroyed grain to inflate the price. This occurred in conjunction with a bad harvest, which is based on the weather.
4. Too vague to mean anything other than the curation of a general negative emotional reaction to communism.
