It's right in the Manifesto. "Spreading the wealth" has nothing to do with Marxism. The USSR didn't have 100% equal wages, no country did.

Just bite the bullet and give more robust arguments. Marxism has everything to do with spreading the wealth. That's not the argumentative ground we should fight on.

Not in the sense Obama used it, or in the sense silly "everyone must have 100% the exact same income" caricatures of Marxists use it.

In fact both the fascists and nazis roughly spoke of "sharing the wealth" as well. It was an appeal to the petty-bourgeoisie of Italy and Germany that "usurers" and "corrupt anti-national capitalists" would have their wealth given back to "the people".

But when you claim that spreading the wealth has nothing to do with Marxism, without those qualifiers, it's kind of false.

Socialism for the lower class
Fascism for the middle class
Capitalism for the higher class
